    Default Questionable Sticker

I recently decided to re-arrange my SNES collection, and I just now noticed that my Earthbound box has a really disgusting sticker and residue on it. I know stuff like goo gone works great for carts, cd's, and cases, but will it work on the cardboard-like box that Earthbound came in? I'll get a pic up here in a minute...

I'm going to venture to guess: no.

It will probably leave a nasty grease stain if you try.

That's what I thought... Any idea of how to get it off?

    Try this stuff called un-du:

I have had good results with it. It works good on labels. Just go easy with it, if you over rub you can take the black off the box. I would suggest practicing on a box you don't care about much for first.

Yeah, I used that stuff on my first girlfriend as a teenager. It didn't take any of the black off her box at all.

If you really feel that you need to do something about it I'd probably recommend a hair dryer and a fingernail.

I would just use lighter fluid (like zippo or ronsonol) and something to wipe the adhesive off with such as tissue paper or a paper towel. Even a cotton rag would work well (less chance of small scratches.).

I can vouch for this method. I used lighter fluid a ton of times on N64 box sticker residue, and it worked just fine without hurting the box.

Strangely enough, Goo Gone doesn't do that on the materials I've tried. I removed some duct tape residue from the box of my Odyssey 400 (which is matte white) & it left no perceivable stain, even after repeated treatments.

Of course, you should always try on an inconspicuous area, like one of the end flaps.
