Default Since when did the price on this quadruple?

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=170345771817

This item has typically gone for as low as $500 and up to $1100. How in the hades did the price suddenly quadruple?

It only takes a few crazy bidders to drive the price of something through the roof (in this case only two). Look at how much higher the top two bids were than the rest of the bids. The top bidder also placed an additional bid above his winning bid. I guess someone really wanted this thing, huh?

It's things like these that make me wish there were no Ebay to begin with.

But at the same time, Ebay has been a valuable asset in getting games.

    Sigh...I guess it's a necessary evil.

Wow, I'm surprised at how many members missed the important part of this auction. . .

What everyone in this thread failed to note/notice is the fact that this M8 unit has Stack-up. This unit was only rumored to exist for a long time, and I think this is the ONLY ONE to have ever sold on eBay. All of those other M8 units are minus Stack-up, thus making this rare unit that much rarer.

QFT. I'd rather snipe than put an early bid in just to battle back and forth with another bidder. Thats something you should only do during your first year or two on ebay, mainly because you don't know any better.

The last two bids were made with less than a minute to go in the auction. One guy bid with 20 minutes or so left, and the other guy bid with only a few seconds to spare. The reason this item sold for some much is because it is INSANELY rare. It has nothing to do with sniping/not sniping.

And another factor is desperation - the desire to obtain it no matter what.

Bidders wanted this item badly, so they started raising their bids hoping he/she would win.

If bidders did not care for the item, it would have never fetched so high.

I completely agree. I fall into this category more often than not unfortunately.
