I just picked up Wii Sports Resort at Wal-Mart tonight. Has anyone else got it yet? What are your opinions on it so far?

Picked it up, but I haven't played it yet. I have a feeling that it'll end up as a get-together sort of game. Not that I don't already have a few thousand Wii-get-together-games.
Picked it up at Costco this morning. I am addicted to the sword fighting. First Wii game I have played for more than ten minutes since Super Mario Galaxy.
I was in the store, about to buy it when i realized that there was no way i wanted to spend 50 bucks on a bunch of mini games, so i went elsewhere and bought a few used games instead. Fortunately for me, my brother picked up a copy so i was able to play it anyways. I was surprised at how fun it was. (Really i shouldn't have been. Nintendo doesn't often disappoint me in the fun department.) The motion plus really makes a difference. I think my favourite game has to be the archery, the controls are so natural. So yeah, i guess i'll be picking it up at some point in the near future after all.
Till I played Resort - Wii Sports was still my favorite game on the system.
As I spend more time with Resort I'm amazed at how much Nintendo packed in there and at what level of polish. The Wii Motion Plus makes a world of difference on games like Bowling and Golf (no more easy 300 point games of bowling kids!) and there's a VERY healthy amount of unlocking of achievements, events and game types.
And, speaking of game types, claiming that there are only 12 games on Resort is a bit of a disservice when certain events unlock completely different types of games (Frisbee Golf is an entirely different game than Frisbee Catch).
Anybody who enjoyed Wii Sports should consider this a no-brainer purchase. It expands on everything that was great about Wii Sports ten-fold, the motion plus is VERY responsive (though the game makes you calibrate the hell out of it in most events) and it's just jam-packed with stuff to do - you can NOT do everything that the game offers up in just a few hours, looks to be pretty endlessly re-playable and the new must have Wii game for parties.
If you're on the fence, take the plunge I'm not sure that any recently released 3rd party title is going to satisfy as much as this 1st party masterpiece.
I wish it came with two motion-plus adapters as some games are two-player simultaneous only ... so it's like the Nunchuck adapter all over again.
I suppose that I'll wait for another game that I want with a pack-in motion plus, or perhaps I'll keep my eye out for a used one.

Bought the game yesterday with an extra WM+. Played it last night with my wife for at least 3 hours straight. We only got through half of the games, and we didn't touch many of the unlocked modes either.
We really enjoyed the 3v3 basketball, although we still haven't figured out how to consistently keep the ball from being stolen.
Bowling seemed to have no obvious change, other than being a little more difficult to get a strike than the first version.
So far, every game is fun, even the publicly maligned Cycling and Wakeboarding.
I got mine at Best Buy yesterday. I think it's a great deal even at $50 with the motion + I have only played the bowling and the ping pong so far but I am digging it so far. I going to play some more after work and I will update my impressions. True 1:1 control FTW!

Gah!
I'm going nuts trying to find the last 2 "sightseeing spots" in Island Fly-Over.
I knew when I started playing and saw that there were 80 total that that it would most definitely end this way ... a struggle to find the last 1 or 2...

Nevermind. Found them all and it built me a private beach house on the private island!

I am officially a Frisbee Dog Pro! Although, I am not sure exactly how that rating benefits me.
It's kind of annoying how some of the games give you a rating, and some don't. It seems arbitrary at first, but after thinking about it, I think it is just the games that are multiplayer only which do not give you a rating.
100 pin bowling was the shit in the original, my friends and I would have a blast trying to get strikes on humongous lanes, it was more fun than the regular bowling game. I can only imagine how good it is in Wii Sports Resort.
Whoever hasn't tried 100 pin bowling needs to try it now.
After playing Swordplay Showdown, I'm currently fantasizing about a Wii version of the Crazy 88 "House of Blue Leaves" fight scene from Kill Bill Volume 1. (Or some developer cool enough to create an homage to it in a game that uses swords & Wii Motion Plus)

I am not that impressed with the Sword Showdowns. The duels are fun. Contrary to the initial criticism, it isn't "spammy" at all. It is very tactical. The person who is accurate with blocks and attacks will win every time. It's like saying Street Fighter is a button masher.
3 of us played this game for about 4 hours last night and had a blast. We did play quite a bit of 100 pin bowling. There really is quite a lot to do this game.
I really liked the jet ski (wave race) and wake boarding, and archery. Canoeing was more fun than I thought it would be. We didn't even get to golf or cycling. Disappointed in the plane games, but everything else was great.
Tonight, my wife and I finally understood how to do well in canoeing and it is great. We each stick to our own side of the boat and stick the oar into the water to turn.
I am having a hell of time getting to the sword duel master. I get up to a rating in the 1300-1400 range, then one loss sends me down anywhere up to 100 points. It's frustrating, but I try every day.
I'm having lots of fun with this game. I like the Island Flyover mode, I kinda wish they had a few more stages besides Wahu Island. The archery is fun and realistic. Not sure if I would dish out extra $$$ for an extra Wii Motionplus at the moment.
