    This is the dumbest bidding behavior I've seen in a while. The winning bid just caps it.

    Would've liked to win that, but I've never seen it before so I wasn't about to drop insane money on it in the absence of any market data.

    That is just stupid. Oh well, i hope it's worth it!

    I did that once before on Yahoo Auctions - I thought it was a normal proxy bid auction but it was a name your price auction. Fortunately my named price was still below the reserve as I put in a rather large bid!
