Final Fantasy XI Beta for PS2

Not sure if it's still available to play online. It does require the HDD to play.

The game is still online (since the PS2/360/PC ones all play together), but as said you'd need the HDD to play the game. Also, the Beta servers are all long gone, this is more of a collectors piece than it is anything remotely useable coldb33r.

Did the demo come with a HDD? How did they expect people to play it otherwise?

It did come with a HDD, I just don't remember how the whole thing was packaged. I know there was someone here on DP who was in the beta (and who at one point or two I was going to buy their beta kit) but I can't remember who it is right now. I'll dig through old PM's and emails to see if I kept anything.

I was in the beta for this. You received the game and a 40gb hard drive. You had to have a network adapter already. I played the beta for all of 10 minutes, hated it, and never played it again.

If you sent everything back in, they gave you a full copy of the game with a new hard drive.
