Link fixed; should be working now.
Looks well-written, similar to the careful analysis I try - except I've never written a full book! Will be watching this one.
B&N is overpriced like the Starbucks coffee they sell. It will probably be cheaper just to order online, and that way the money goes straight to the author to boot.
These are great. I'll want both of them once I get a new job. I could even use it to help determine what games I would probably enjoy just by reading their descriptions.
What would be really awesome would be if you were successful and kept doing this and moved on to the 1989-1994 era and so forth. If it works you'll be able to continue making money just by having fun and writing about it.
The benefit you have from trying out all this stuff is that you get to try a little bit of everything.
I've had a blast working on these books, especially when discovering great games I'd never played before (such as Killer Bees! for the O2) and revisiting old favorites (such as Mario Bros. for the NES). Also fun was the buying trips and having a great excuse to purchase lots of games (as if I'd ever needed an excuse before).
I plan to continue the series and am working on the third volume now.
