Playstation2 control issues

Hey all.

My girlfriend recently picked up a fat Playstation 2. There is a problem though: the thing always likes to pretend she's pushing the left analog stick to the right, even when she isn't touching it. I don't think it is a controller problem, because we've tried two different controllers [I suppose they could both have the same issue].

Anyone have any ideas or a list of things to check?

Try the controller in a different port and see if it still does it.
