Default how do you organize cables?

I have a huge pile of RF switches, AC adapters, generic power cables, AV cables for all systems, and controllers for all my systems and they just sit in one or two plastic bins. They are constantly tangled up and its really just a huge ball of cables. Sifting through them to find one thing I need is a pain.

I have all my systems displayed on a shelf, but I cant seem to find a spot for the cables.

How do you guys organize the various cables for your systems?

I used to use a shoe holder that mounted on the back of my closet door. It had about a dozen pockets to hold shoes and I put my extra cables and controllers in them. Keeps them out of the way, but still easy to get. That is, of course, if you have a door to hang it on.

I wish I knew. I have all my consoles out and ready for play (since I never know what I'm going to have a hankering for) and the wires and cables for them... look worse than Lain's room, actually.

Perform a solution similar to mine: move that shelf of console display close to the tv, buy a bunch of composite automatic switchers and surge strips, and hook EVERYTHING in. No more bin of cables!

if you want to keep them in the bins, just use rubber bands or twist ties to bundle the cords.

    Velcro cable ties baby!

Dollar Tree sells them in packs of 8 for a dollar.

I fucking love them, not just for power and A/V cables, but for wrapping and storing controller cables.

shoe racks work nice also if you just tie them up with rubber bands or twist ties and keep them in draws by system or well i've done both and its not too bad just have to work with what you got
