Last minute finds for this month
Not much today. I bought a CD called "Ultimate Game Pack" which only turned out to have 20 shareware games on it.
I wandered around and saw nothing of interest. One booth had a Super Famicom and a bunch of NES games lying on the floor... As I was leaving I decided to trace back my route, and I ended up at that booth again. I figured I'd buy some of the NES games... and I found uh.
This. On the floor.
Um.
I haven't tested it yet...
Insert reference to 2k moneys, dur butter, and calming the beef min.
In other words, nice find there!
Bah, a month behind again... catching up with the second half of last month. Then I'll post this month's in the September thread. Things not from ebay were gotten locally.
Aug. 18th
--
Grandia (Saturn) (Japanese version of course) (complete) (from ebay)
Aug. 31
--
Legendary Wings (NES) (cart only)
TinStar (SNES) (cart only) (pretty fun lightgun game!)
Chameleon Twist (N64) (cart only)
Sept. 1
--
Dungeon Explorer (TG16) (complete) (from ebay) (Gauntlet is awesome and so is this!)
Wardner (Genesis) (cart only) (had never heard of this, but it's fun)
Golden Axe II (Genesis) (cart only) (I really love the Golden Axe games!)
DayDreamin' Davey (NES) (cart only)
Sheep (PSX) (complete) (nice Lemmings-ish puzzle game)
Sept. 2
--
a TurboGrafx-16 with base unit and broken CD drive (needs a new laser), from ebay; came with carrying case, system, base unit, controller, original power supply, AV cable, the CD System Card 2.0, Keith Courage (with manual), and Takin' It To the Hoop (complete). Now I just need that laser... but I was pretty surprised at how huge the graphical jump was going from RF to AV. Pretty nice.
Sept. 3
--
Marvel Land (Genesis) (cart only) - fun little platformer, nothing amazing but fun anyway.
later that week
--
Landstalker (Genesis) (cart with case, no manual) -- awesome, awesome game, I'd heard it was good but didn't know it'd be THIS good. $3 too.
the week after that sometime
--
from ebay, a lot of 10 disc only Saturn games.
Sega Saturn
--
Daytona USA (already have this one)
Virtua Cop (yeah, another second copy)
Virtua Cop 2
Die Hard Arcade (probably the main reason the price went up that high, but just a decent beat 'em up)
Sega Rally Championship
Battle Arena Toshinden Remix
VR Soccer
Virtua Fighter
Virtua Fighter Remix
Baku Baku (fun puzzle game that helped inspire Puzzle Fighter)
Mostly got the lot for Baku Baku, Sega Rally, and Die Hard Arcade, but Toshinden and Virtua Cop 2 are occasionally amusing.
several days later
--
Super Bonk (SNES) (cart only) - not so easy to find, it was very cool to see a copy locally... and I think the $8 I paid is well below what it'd cost online. Great game too!
last week
--
Action Replay 4-in-1 Plus cart (Saturn) (new from Play-Asia) (took a while to get here, but it finally arrived... awesome!)
Steamgear Mash (Saturn) (Japanese version of course) (from ebay)
J.J. and Jeff (TurboGrafx-16) (card and sleeve only)
J.J. and Jeff seems like a good fun platformer, apart from the very annoying backward warps... oh well. Steamgear Mash is fun stuff, fun little isometric action game. Great graphics!
9/29 (yesterday)
--
SNES
--
Breath of Fire (cart only)
Gamecube
--
X-Men Legends (disc only)
Playstation
--
Shipwreckers! (complete)
Dreamcast
--
Street Fighter III: Double Impact (disc only)
... SFIII is such an awesome game, it was fantastic to find that... and at $3 the price was definitely right. Those others I mostly got because they were cheap, Breath of Fire was also just $3!
Playing, because it's the best RPG ever.
Check my auctions here! I am in the business of finding off-beat things, including video game stuff!

You never paid attention to me until a little while ago, have you?
Over several years I've found, bought and sold:
* A large lot of 3DO proto CDs (with source code and tools!) which I sold to someone who I will not mention publicly because I value his privacy - but he said he'd release them online (I'm sure they'll pop up eventually - there were lots of CDs, you know);
* A Bandai Pippin prerelease system which hadn't been cleared by the FCC for general use;
* A complete in box Miracle Piano Teaching System (NES);
* A Sega Genesis / CD Dev system;
And I once found a Sega Saturn Dev system, but someone got it before me.
I have a knack for finding good stuff. I just hate not being able to keep these, instead having to sell them because this is my main source of income.

I have to get my wisdom teeth removed at a place way up in the foothills because its the only place our insurance will cover. there was a salvation army next to it, and i went in. the first time i've ever been to one, didn't realize they even had salvation armys in tucson as I've never seen one before.
Closing off the month with these:
Genesis:
Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine (cart only) - $2.50
PlayStation:
2 Xtreme (complete, GH) - 50 cents
PS2:
Marvel Ultimate Alliance (complete) - birthday gift from BobaFettHotep
DS:
The Rub Rabbits! (complete) - $4.99
I also passed 1500 total games and acquired over 100 this month alone (thanks mostly to the Portland Retro Gaming Expo on the 20th).
I've been waay too busy recently, so I'm posting this stuff a little late. Anyway, here are the last of my September purchases:
Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (DS) $39.99 - Sure, the controls are a take a bit to get used to, but it still an awesome game!
Sonic the Hedgehog Issue 204 for $3.00
Sonic Universe Issue 8 for $3.00 - Augh! I came home and discovered I my copy was messed up in the middle. It looks like the printer's binding machine put the staples in the wrong place, because the center pages are all scrunched.
Hook on DVD for $7.99 - Found this as I was going to pay for Kingdom Hearts DS. I loved this movie as a kid, so I figured I grab it for my collection.
Bases Loaded II (With Clear Plastic Case & Manual)
Black Bass, The (With Clear Plastic Case & Manual)
Magmax
Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt (With Clear Plastic Case & Manual)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (With Clear Plastic Case)
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (SNES)
.75 each after 50% off. All NES except for MMPR. Was mostly interested in the clear snap cases.
