Default Super Mario Kart Graphics Issue

So my friend gave me Super Mario Kart for the SNES and well there is a small problem, the tracks are covered in grass/dirt textures even the map itself! When i switch to rear view for the second half of the screen, the track appears fine, even the demo shows a garbled track. So what could be the problem?

Did you already try cleaning the contacts?

Maybe the game's DSP or SRAM is failing?

Well I cleaned the contacts and still the same problem, turns out its the SNES itself because it plays perfect on my friends SNES,hopefully its not a mode 7 error or something but looks like ill have to hunt down a cleaning cart for my SNES. I actually opened my SNES and its the earliest version of the Super Nintendo, being it says 1990 on the chip and has the SHVC-SOUND module thats only found on the earlier versions.

You could try this. I did this for my Genesis and NES. But instead of water i used Rubbing Alcohol. Not sure if that wise or not.
