Now this looks interesting. Some of these prices even beat Steam at the best of times.

Wow, they aren't blocking me because I'm in Mexico, for once!
This is awesome.
How is Civilization 4? I must confess that I've never actually played any of the Civilization games, though I do have Civ II and Civ II:ToT around here somewhere.

... So much for that. I'm having the same idiotic issues I've had with Steam forever. My IP doesn't match my PayPal info. So they won't accept my money.
It appears that bitching at them proved worthwhile! I got my game after all.
They're running a sale on action games this week. The list:
The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena
BioShock
Saints Row 2
Sid Meier's Pirates!
STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl
Frontlines: Fuel of War
Thief: Deadly Shadows
Serious Sam Gold
Max Payne 2
... and MLB2K9. Which isn't an action game. Heh. I'm considering getting Assault on Dark Athena, but I already own Riddick part 1...
Oddly enough, I already own most of those. And never played them. And paid more than $5 for most of them. >_<
I've heard Thief III is kind of middling, but is Riddick Part 1 really as good as they say?

It appears Dark Athena also includes a full remake of part one. So I may spring for it later. It seemed like a really good game, but it does feel like it was designed for a gamepad...
Flippin' A man, Dark Athena $5! Niiiiice! Turning into quite a sale here can't wait for the next boxes, well, unless they suck, but Dark Athena $5! Great Deal!
Some games have DRM, others don't. For example, I downloaded the X-Com bundle pack the other day, and some games include a CD Key which you can see on your account info. And there's other games, like Dark Athena, which still require a one-time internet authentication before letting you play.

I hope they have Mass Effect coming up.

Looking at their other offerings, this might finally be my opportunity to get Uplink for a decent price, too. Ah, the thrill of anticipation!

What the crap? Uplink is $50 on Amazon? o_O I read about it and am cautiously interested. If the game can be modded, then I might buy it.
Also, I think I'm going to buy Border Patrol: The Video Game! (Well, maybe not. I actually pirated this thing, and it's broken to hell and back.)

Uplink is only $10 on Steam, actually, though the price goes up to $20 on some other services.
I should add that if you click around a little bit, there are some other games on sale for $5 that are slightly less evident, such as Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones. My backlog engorges further!

Uplink is $10 on Steam, BUT, you can't mod it. The original CD release -can- be modded to add new missions or stuff, and that's what interests me.
I've also read that the Steam version is unmoddable (unsurprising).
Games like HL2 are created so they can be modded, but when other games get released through the system, Steam makes it so that any sort of alteration to any game file marks it as corrupt, and it "fixes" this. This is incredibly irritating with some games, like the Commander Keen games - you can't change the settings that the version of DOSBox bundled with it has because Steam UNDOES THAT before you start the game again because it thinks it's corrupt.
I'm guessing Uplink's modding involves changing some core game files, hence the inability to mod it.
Aw, peas. No Mass Effect.
Still, Assassin's Creed.
