Default Just picked up a model 2 SNES and had a question

I picked up a model 2 super nintendo yesterday and I was wondering if there are any significant differences between it and the original version? This is the first time I've got my hands on this version and I'm trying to decide between keeping or selling it. I have a couple of the original, so I don't really need it as a spare.

Things that are different for the average out of the box player:

    Takes up less space.
    No power LED.
No eject button. (sometimes a problem if it's in a tight space as the system is much lighter than the original)
Nintendo family AV Multi Composite connection only.

Pretty much everything else is exactly the same. Personally it's the only SNES system I own but that's because it's the only one that fits in the space I have for it. The lack of the eject button is the one thing I really miss. The tab removal modification to allow Super Famicom cartridges to fit works just like it does on a normal SNES. Also if you have a SNES copier, they really don't sit well atop the SNES II, then again they usually don't balance well on a normal SNES either, working better on a flat topped Super Famicom.

There are some overly technical differences that have to do with modifications, but if you'd rather cry with the saints than laugh with the sinners, there's a thread all about that here.

Also, it lacks support for S-video.

David said that, albeit in a bit more of a complex manner.

But really, this one is the only difference keeping the mini-SNES in the closet and the big-SNES hooked into the TV.

The s-video mod is pretty easy if that's the only thing stopping you from hooking it up.

Thanks for the info. I'm thinking I'll likely sell or trade it then once I get around to testing it.

SNES2 Game Genie compatibility seems to be hit or miss. Sometimes only some codes work, sometimes I swear only the first one I enter works.
