Diatribal Deity: PM sent for some soundtracks.
Found myself able to hit some thrifts yesterday and today, which is a little ironic since I was just talking about how I haven't found much because things have been crazy around here. Anyway, yesterday at a local thrift and goodwill I grabbed these:
SMS phaser - 1.95
Rambo iii - .80
KOTOR II - 2.80
RE2 - 6.99
Power Stone - 4.99
Nicktoons DS - 6.99
Wiimote - 14.99 (this doesn't work at all; third like this I've come across and there isn't a way I've found to get them going; will be returned)
White Stripes - 2.99
Today my son was driving us crazy, and my wife wanted to go to a thrift, so:
Arc's had the N64 games for 1.69 each and the Maximo guide for .69, but half off.
Different franchise of the above local thrift had:
NES AC - 1.95
SNES AC - 1.45
Drakan guide - .80
and I had a 25% off coupon for that location.
And a deal I'd been working on off CL... the ad said:He was pretty sure they were all PS2 games, since he'd never had a PS1. So I show up and here is what it is:Playstation II Video Games - $20 (South Minneapolis)
Final Fantasy 5, 7 & 8, Hitman II, Twisted Metal Black, Test Drive, Silent Hill 2, Metal Gear Solid 2, State of Emergency, NCAA Football 99, Sims, Dead to Rights
So um, yeah, I'm not complaining. The green case has disc 4 of FFVIII. Red case has GH FFVII 3 discs. and the black label case has all 3 discs as well, but no manual. I paid the 20 no problem.

Yeah, trust me I've tried it all. I've gotten probably 10-15 wiimote at thrift stores on the cheap, all of them store returns from Target or wherever. Most there is nothing wrong with at all, I figure the person who bought it just didn't know how to sync it, so returned it as defective. The store can't sell the open item, so they just mark it defective and donate it.
In the case of these 3, I could not get blue lights no matter what I tried (including the red button, of course). One I opened up looking for solder splatter and a couple other potential issues I read about, but no joy. The first one I got a replacement from Nintendo for w/ no questions asked, but the last one they wouldn't do anything for me on (anyone want it?). I paid 2 bucks for it, so no biggie. I wouldn't pay 15 bucks for one now without testing, except that Goodwill has an excellent return policy, so no risk.
I'm going to remember what you said about broken Wiimotes. My Goodwill has ZERO return policy, so I'd be screwed.
I picked up Phantasy Star Zero today, got that GameStop's last non-preordered copy. It was really... off at first, but then I quit playing a HUnewm and started rocking a RAcast. It's PSO in my pocket!
Finds at swapmeet today were pretty good.
Final Fantasy IV: Official Soundtrack Music from Final Fantasy Chronicles *All original*
Final Fantasy N Generation : Soundtrack *All original*
I really had no idea on how much these went for but knew they held value. Pick up both for a $1 each.
Same Lady had
Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes (No Manual)
Metal Gear Solid VR Missions *No Manual*
Metal Gear Solid *GH* Complete
Games were $3 each so i spent $11 bucks total. I was kinda shocked how much the soundtracks go for on amazon, don't know if they would sell for $35+ on ebay but i think im going to keep them for collection.
Another guy that usually has odd games i picked up
Muppets Monster Adventure for a buck. CIB
Its very rare to find Rare games at this swapmeet, so i was really shocked to find such decent titles.
Bookmans (Local Game Store) - Castlevania II - CIB $15 which didnt cost me anything after trading some crap DVDs in. Gotta love bookmans

Found some PC gaming goodness at a local Savers.
Star Trek 25th Anniversary boxed and complete $4.99
Postal 2 Jewel case and CD $2.99
Goodwill finds from the last few days:
Saw a boxed SNES Super Set for $12.99 in a case at Goodwill. Imagine my surprise when I opened it up and found an SNES mini system inside. I’m guessing someone upgraded their SNES, got rid of the old system, but not the box, and used it when packing up the new system….either way, I’m a winner!
Bloom County Windows screensaver $1.99
Golden Tee plug-in $2.99
Clear case PS2 Dualshock controller $ .99
Opposite the case with the 2 bare original PS1 systems marked at $12.99, I found a bagged PSOne system with 2 controllers, power supply and RCA Cables for $6.99…go figure Goodwill pricing strategies.
Individually sealed DVDs in slim cases for seasons 2-4 of the Xfiles - $1.99 each…something to watch on my MacBook while my daughters are at music lessons this year.
Hell Boy action figure, opened, but oddly complete - $1.99
Xbox 360 Dynasty Warriors 6, sealed, $9.99. Still a few other copies at the 27th St. Goodwill this morning.
And my only non-Goodwill find this week, My preorder Modern Warfare 2 from Best Buy. Preorder deal and a $5 gift card made it only $25 and change….going upstairs to play it right now!

Tomorrow's Past is Yesterday's Future Today!
Not exactly game related, but Sears was liquidating a 32" Sony Bravia LCD, brand new, for $240! It's model 32L4000, so it's a tad behind the current model, 32L5000.
But who cares! At that price, it's a steal! So I picked up one and my goodness, the image ROCKS! Much better than my Panasonic 26" Viera LCD! I still use it for older consoles, though.
Proud owner of a Neo 25 Neo Geo Candy Cab!
I bought modern warfare 2 thursday night after power trading halo 3 and left 4 dead towards it.
Autobots. Roll out.
I grabbed Wizardry, Dual Hearts, and Star Wars Battlefront II Xbox for $32 in free Bookman's credit from trading in free magazines.
It was originally going to be about $45 for those + a book for my dad, but the guy saw I was buying two Atlus games and talked to me about Persona, then he decided to give me a discount, so I only had to use the credit I had left and no money.
Star Wars and Dual Hearts are for ebay, Wizardry is to keep. Its really surprising that anyone would pay this much for Star Wars Battlefront II but I've been regularly selling them for $29.95 + $3.95 shipping for the past couple months, and Bookman's seems to get 1-2 in a week for $15 which I buy.
The other day I picked up on the NES a loose copy of Athena for $2. I like the old SNK stuff and will be giving this platformer a whirl later tonight and God does it look terrible. No wonder I haven't heard of this title let alone seen it much in the game stores, most likely went right to the trash after play.
Also I picked up a Kenwood KR-4600 receiver/tuner to replace a failing one I have, and this one works great. After looking it up there's a bit of hate for this unit because it's a lower end model and is apparently more common. Spent a few hours cleaning it while watching some TV as it's in wonderful shape, just dirty from use and sitting in someone's garage for many years. Ironically it's going to find a new home in the garage, but next to the arcade machines to pump out background 70's-90's music for the comforting sound and feeling of the arcade experience. I'll post a picture when I find & clear a spot for it out there.
Picture of it on in my room:

Someone traded in some Saturn games today at the local PnT. Got a call to come pick some up, and pieced through the broken cases and missing manuals to get these CIB:
Bug!
Earthworm Jim 2: Special Edition
Machine Head
NBA Action
Skeleton Warriors
WWF Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game
mr. Bones was also traded in, but the instruction manual only had the cover page
Also picked up these guides:
Mortal Kombat Armageddon
Tomb Raider III
Turok
That makes 39 US NTSC Saturn Games and...something like 150 Strategy Guides for me now.
