Default Most violent classic console video games? nothing past 16 bit era

Sure we can talk all day about pc classic games but that makes this topic to easy. But what about console games where restrictions and censorship got in the way? Im looking for basically games that make you think , how did this get pass censorship or , hey thats pretty gorey and violent for a older game. Stuff like Splatterhouse 2 , Castlevania bloodlines , mutant league football , Clock tower (even though thats a snes import) Violent as in gorey , blood or stuff like realistic ways of killing people that manage to pull that off in the old school era (getting stabbed , strangled)

Techno Cop for Amiga, Genesis and other consoles is nice and violent. You can also kill civilians.

Eternal Champions: Challenge From The Dark Side for the Sega CD.

Sure, it was a bit more cartoonish than Mortal Kombat, but dear God it was gory, bloody and sadistic as hell. Larcen's Vendetta, even being somewhat cartoonish, still shocks me to this day where he shanks the opponent to death. Then there was Jetta Max's Sudden Death finishing move with the Clown car that was so bloody and sadistic. But it had to be Dawson's Overkill that took the cake. When your opponent gets speared with a log and his blood smears and streaks all over the place coupled by his intestines falling out and wiggling then you know the game rocks!.

The blow job scene in Ring Kings for Nes was pretty violent to look at....and creepy as well.

Not the most, gruesome, but I thought Freedom Force for the NES was cool. You shoot the guys and there is blood. It certainly wasn't a Mario game.

My favorite would have to be Eternal Champions on Sega CD, as was previously mentioned.

Whenever someone (or something) got killed in the original Vandal Hearts, there was an impressive amount of blood that gushed up out of the victim.
When I come home from a long day in Hell, there's nothing I'd rather reach for than a fire-brewed bottle of Styx Beer. Made from the filthiest waters from our own River Styx. Styx Beer is a third more toxic than any other regular beer. The worst beer - the filthiest beer - the deadliest beer. It's Styx Beer!

Why Splatterhouse 2? The original Splatterhouse is just as violent if not moreso and, imo, a better game.

I'll say Abadox as well. That's a pretty gory space shooter.

    No mention of NARC yet?

Terrible port for the NES, but you could still 'splode drug dealers.

(In the arcade version) when you shoot those clown dudes with a rocket, and they flip in the air screaming...that is the single funniest thing ever put into a video game.

Possibility is infinity! You must be satisfied!

Well from what I saw from playing Total Carnage for a few minutes, Smash TV has more violence.
You can literally kill a dozen people per second in Smash TV, something that few games let you do. It's surprising that the massive amount of ultraviolence slipped past Nintendo's censors when it got ported to the SNES...but then again, some of the gore was left out (like the flying eyeball when you die). Whether it was due to space restrictions or censorship, I'm not sure...

well, Total Carnage has the whole politically incorrect thing going for it more than the violence maybe.

Where are all the knee jerk parents complaining about violence back in those days?

    All dead I suppose.

    How's it going down there?
