Ok, for this exercise's sake imagine this...
You are outcast to a desert island, in the middle of a nice tropical sea. No bad ass skateboards, no boomerangs or strange mutant plant life/animals. On the beach is a small shaded hut, a power source, big screen TV, a mini-fridge with some sort of magical never-ending supply of turkey legs and coke. Before being outcast, you were allowed to choose 1 system (retro, pre-ps2) and 5 games out of it's respective library. If, considering your here for an infinite amount of time until giant animals eat you up, what System/games do you choose and why?
Remember, 5 games for the rest of your life, think longevity, re-playability etc.
honestly, i'd choose the Dreamcast and some web browser peripherals... but i'm going elsewhere...
NES
Tetris (the music would probably drive me nuts, but puzzles would keep me sane)
NES Open (not sure why... but hey, 16+ years and I still play it monthly)
Mega Man 2 (one of my favorite MM's, plus you could mix up how you went through the game each time)
Bubble Bobble (Let us all journey to the cave of monsters...)
SMB3 (still one of my all time favorites for nostalgia, plus an exciting platformer that wouldn't wear too thin, too quickly)
Honorable Mention: some crazy large multi-cart (variety is the spice of life)
...arrgh, missing a shmup in there... oh well. Off to the island...
