Default How rare is the Playstation Dual Analog controller?

Not the Dual Shock controller, but the Dual Analog controller with the longer handles and concave analog sticks?

It's actually surprisingly very hard to come by. I remember getting a PS1 the Christmas that controller was out, but even by then it had been discontinued by Sony, giving the controller a shelf life of maybe 2-3 months, max. Not until the Dual shock was out a good 6 months or so later was I able to get an official analog pad... I had to endure the InterAct Barracuda controller (and my friends saying "That controller looks like a cat! Why do you need analog, anyway? there's nothing special about it...") until then.
I think I've only seen one or two around at flea markets, too... it's rare.

I still don't understand this. Maybe it's because I live in such a small town, but I can pick up one of these pretty much anywhere, we have a bin of them at work (to be fair its a mix bin with many of the 3 varieties) but it's still really weird to me.

Maybe I'll buy all of them and sell them on ebay.

Yeah, I don't understand it either...I come by 4-5 every time I'm looking through controller bins. Also, yes, I can tell the difference between the Dual Analog and Dual Shock.

What exactly distinguishes this from the regular DualShock? I get that the analog sticks are concave and the controller is gray, but is that it?

Other than collector's value though, does anyone really prefer the longer handles? I remember this being the first PSX controller I got and I almost immediately went out and bought a third party controller because it didn't feel right in my hands.

I didn't have too many issues with the long handles, though another feature really bothered me because of them - the grooves where the top-half of the controller connects the bottom-half. The smaller DualShock controllers don't rest in my hands as well, so I don't feel them, but those grooves on the Dual Analog rested against my hand and would often be uncomfortable.
