I was having issues with some 72 pin connectors for some NES units I was trying to refurb. I went poking around the web to see if there were any more tricks I could find with why my 72 pin connections would not work and I found one that was quite unusual. I tried it and it did make the connector better.

What I did was cook the 72 pin connector.

First I boiled some water with soap in it. I put the 72 pin connector in there for 5 minutes. I then turned on my oven to the lowest setting (mine only went to 175). I then put the connector on a cookie sheet and put the connector in there for 10 minutes to dry.

I then let the connector cool and it does work better. I am not sure if we are allowed to post links to other boards on here, but there is where I got the idea. I can PM anyone the link to the post.
