My Game Genie is black and says Galoob. This I am positive. The Galoob ones have that gold label on them, while the Camerica ones have a blue label. The cart colors are not all gold. See for yourself. I don't know if I've ever seen a gold one in person.

I'd like to see a pic of yours, since I've personally never seen a black one. Tons and tons of gold ones, but not black. One of those Google images almost has me convinced, but the quality is poor. The others appear to be scans or pictures where the contrast or color could make it look black. Certainly a good picture provided by you would change my mind!

My NES GG is indeed black. I didn't even know the gold ones existed until about 2004.

I guess I was wrong, all I've ever seen in person was gold coloured. Was the black one a later release? What colour was the adapter for the top loader?

Theres about 5 or so varients to the game genie outer design and a ton of internal revisions. most of them are gold but i've found 2 differnt black ones. and the adaptor for the toploader is black.

The only Game Genies that I've ever seen were in gold. I've got a gold one around here somewhere :P

Dock sale again. There wasn't much there. Got some Microsoft Works/Money/Publisher/etc. 99 OEM CDs for $0.50 each. Dunno what to do with those. Got a NES with a game inside (The first TMNT game) for $5.50.

Got a vintage "Sudfunk" (U has a umlat) stereo receiver for $5. Dunno what this is for, as it's radio channels are like "U, U1, U2, U3..." and then you have different frequencies for each "U" setting. I guess it's a German radio. All of the dials and switches are in German. I can't find much info on the internet about this one. I might just go ahead and try it on eBay.

Stopped at Salvation Army and got a loose CD copy of Loom for a grand amount of $0.54. Yay for Loom!!!

Last but not least I went to a little mom & pop game store and got Commando Raid (Atari 2600) , in mint condition, for $1.03. They've got some other games I want but I was all out of money by then.

I actually had a few bucks in my pocket and the game store was nearby anyway. Last time I was there I got Mission Cobra and Baby Boomer for $4.95 each so I figured it was worth a try to at least see what they have. I have a motto of no going anywhere broke and if I did happen to see something crazy like Bubble Bobble Part 2 for $9.99 then I'd used my bank debit card.

So to answer you question, I was actually out of physical money.

Non-retail demo finds. The God of War 2 disc does not work on a retail PS2 and I don't have an open Dreamcast to test the Half-Life demo on. I'll try to pick one up at Goodwill this weekend.

Found a Sega Master System II at a local bookstore for $40. It is in mint condition with two controllers just does not have the box, I think I over paid a little for it but I have been looking for a model II for a while. Do you guys think it was at least a halfway decent deal?

I'd say that if it's going into your collection, and you've been looking for a while, then it was a solid find. If you'd held out or bought it online then you would have paid shipping as well.

Holy cow! You picked up a beta dreamcast disc of an unreleased game? That's just amazing. I've still yet to find any beta or unreleased games. I think the rarest game I own is around a 6 or so.
