Question Opening An Atari 2600 Jr - help plz?

I have tried to google and search the forums but can not find anything on how exactly to open my Atari 2600 Jr. I just want to do some basic cleaning and such, I have blown out a decent amount of dust with canned air spray but I just know theres more in there o<

I removed all 5 screws and then went to seperate the cover but it just wont come all the way apart, it is stuck where the cover kinda tapers down at the front. I know there are a few things connected between the top and the bottom but I can't get it open enough to even have access to anything. It is basically sliding a few millimeters then refusing to go any further. Is there something I'm missing or does it just hate me?

I used a small flathead screwdriver to pry them apart.

First lift up the back end as far as you can without breakind it, mine went up about an inch. Then stick your screwdriver down into the front end. You will probably need light to see the tabs. There are 3 tabs between you and success. Use the screwdriver to seperate the tabs, it's been 2 months since I got mine and did what you are doing. But you shoulb be able to figure it out once you see them.

Just work at it and you'll get it.

When you get around to putting it back together, remember to align the on/off and color/bw switches on the casing with the actual switches inside the console. Also connect the ribbon cable which connects to the Select and Reset switches. Just shove it into the connector, no fancy work required.
