newps3 owner, recomended router?

so my 360 died again and rather then tossing more money down the shitter, I figured i'd give a ps3 a shot. (even though I miss alot of the games on 360...but whatever)

the router I was using with my 360 was a shitty linksys one that kept freezing up (all the lights would go on) whenever too much was going on, i'd like to hook all 3 things up at once (once i fix the 36o down the road) but would like a more reliable simple router anyone have any recomendations that aren't linksys?. I preffer wired over wirless.

Never had an issue with my DLink DIR-625 Router/Rangebooster. Has the ability to do wired or wireless. Was super easy to set up too.

We have a Netgear WPN824 (wireless G) and it works fine with it. They are on separate floors of the house, and the PS3 has no trouble downloading updates. I haven't personally played any online games with it, only because our satellite connection isn't online gaming friendly.

I am running an Apple Airport Extreme on Vista currently through power-line adapters, I am running 2 PS3's 2 Wii's and a 360.

I can't say much about how it works with multiplayer online as I only am interested in leader-boards and dlc.

This router was obviously designed for Macs first and foremost, but I must say this router works better than any router I have ever had that was made specifically for Windows. Witch I find odd.

I also would recommend the D-link Dir-825. (Less expensive) I keep that router around as a backup in case the Airport Dies and I am in a bind.

I had a linksys router and I could not configure it to work with my computer after 3 days.

Linksystem Wireless-N Broadband router.It's what i been useing so far for my (PS3&Wii) and i haven't had too much of a problem for it working either.The router puts out a good single and it sure is better then the nintendo wifi conector that i use to use,now that thing was realy junk.

Btw for what a good wired one is i don't know.

I'm using the cheapest thing I could get my hands on (Dynex) and it works great.

I use a Linksys router and it works pretty good. If there's any problems with it it's when my internet signal is dropping and not due to the router.

Also, running wireless sucks. I used to run wireless but after I tried wired one time I haven't ran wireless since. I actually completely changed how my stuff is set up just so it'd be easier running wired without any cords in the way.

No Linksys? That's a shame. One of the best possible gaming/router setups is an old WRT54G with custom firmware.

I'm in a very similar boat, except that we've got our Airport Extreme (older round model, and we're running it via a Mac) talking to an Airport Express that has a switch plugged into it. That switch has the PS3, 2 PS2's (US and Japanese) and a 360 that has very few issues with connections. In fact the only one with any issues recently was the 360, when I got a new refurb from MS, and I had to unplug the Airport Express and plug it back in again for everything to be happy. I play online for fun or seriously and don't have any problems at all (on the 360). I've not played anything online yet via PSN, but have never had any issues with downloading games or system updates.

I'll second this. What model Linksys do you have Blitz? The linux-based firmware options for Linksys (and other) routers are really good now, and it is pretty amazing how a generally crappy router can be made rock-solid/top shelf quality with a firmware change. 'Custom' isn't really the right word, though. More like you find the version for your router, install it, and use it with only the config needed for any router. It does take the ability to closely follow instructions, and the cajones to actually do it. Since your router is lousy anyway, you don't have much to lose.
