I've burned through two on ebay already and neither give me a decent picture on my trinitron.
Anyone have one they've tested they're willing to sell?

Tried buying one from Nintendo themselves? I believe they sell them on their website.
No such luck. They sell parts but they don't sell an S-video cable for SNES,N64, or gamecube.
This is driving me nuts >_<
Well, I have a Monster cable for my Gamecube and it works beautifully. Dunno why it wouldn't work on the SNES, unless it's a SNES 2, that thing doesn't have S-Video.
No, it's the cables. Bought them off ebay, they never check those things but i hoped for the best.
What's the quality like on those monster cables anyway? Not sure if the price is any indication but I remember bestbuy selling them and they sold for a stupid amount when they were still on the market. But then again, it was bestbuy so...yeah...

Well, they're pretty decent. The RCA plugs themselves are pretty stupid, though - very tight. I was afraid I was going to break my switcher with them so I plugged the cables into into -another- set of cables so they'd be fine.
I've never noticed any interference with these cables, unlike the crap ones I bought from Gamestop a while back.
be careful with any of the high sheilded cables, I notice they use something odd on the s-video port, instead of actually extending the pins through the shell, they are kinda hanging there, I've had a moster copy made by psyclone break a pin off and became useless
Another boone to the monster set is that they are often time 8ft vs the standard 6ft giving much needed length to an elaborate setup

I can confirm it works just fine with the SNES and the picture is fantastic. Yep, same story here, the plugs are very tight to the point where it feels like it's going to break the connector. Other than that, it's a great set of cables and as mentioned it's a few feet longer than the typical generic cable.
Stores clearing them out dirt cheap was the best part, because of the Gamecube/connector going obsolete. Finding them $5-10 shouldn't be a problem.
