Today I took a little day trip to York, since it's one of the most historical places in the UK. They have a pretty nice little museum there built on the ruins of an old prison, which in turn was built on top of an even older castle. Among many other things, a highlight for me was the room recreations of entire rooms from Victorian, 50's, and other British time periods. They even have a fully recreated Victorian Street indoors. Pretty neat stuff. I was also pleasantly surprised to find a video game case in the toy exhibit. I snapped a few pics, which I thought might be appreciated here.
I'd never seen this Pong machine before. I assumed it was some kind of rebranded Odyssey.
I believe this is the computer that became the BBC Micro, but some native UKers can correct me on this
Two things I'd never seen in person before: a Master System II and its port of Sonic 2, which I think is a port of the Game Gear version...right?
Dual screen Game&Watch next to a DS...whoever set this up knows their history, for sure.
Hero Turtles...hehe
My clumsy attempt to take a photo of the whole case. Sorry that one didn't come out well. There's a ZX Spectrum on the right I forgot to take an individual pic of.
