I'll agree that Oblivion sucks, but saying it's a Diablo 2 clone is just false when there are zero gameplay similarities. Well, wait. You equip weapons and armor but also have people to talk to and take on quests. OMG DIABLO CLONE!
Also. Regardless about the fact that they're absolutely nothing alike. Since when is a game that is based on a game released in 1994(Elder Scrolls Arena) a ripoff of a game released in 2000(Diablo 2.) The original Diablo was only released in 1996 as well.

Anyways. I only listed that Western games were only good on console. There are Japanese games that are good on PC.
First off. My favorite Japanese PC game. Gurumin. Don't let the cute look fool you. This game is amazing. If it wasn't later ported to the PSP and released to the US, I never would have known about it.
Almost every Ys game is also on the PC. Also Zwei 2 and Xanadu Next(two games I'd love to see get ported over to a console and localized so I wouldn't have to play them on PC.)
Xanadu Next is probably my most wanted Falcom game. But since it's not on console and it's an older PC game I doubt it would ever get a port. There's an NGage version, but it looks like crap and I doubt even plays like the same game. Port Xanadu Next to the PSP and localize for the US please Falcom.
I think Nostradamus predicted this would be the case. His quatrain writting fell off substantially after that though, think he got sidetracked playing WoW remotely from the past through his scrying bowl.

and what is funny is that they all have a distinct "console" flair that were used to.
I.e: Dragon Quest, Dragon slayer, Xak, Ys......!
and, i still dont see how a fully interactive, albeit empty game (Oblivion), shares any similarity with Diablo?
Diablo has a dark/creepy town, dungeons. 3 character choices, and basically a giant loothunt with quests.
Unless all you did in Oblivion was run around in 3rd person mode, killing everything in sight and looting it, I fail to see the resemblance.
I like the cherry right next to the fifth "banface".
It's like they're angry that they can't eat it.
since I know he still reads this.
Saying Dragon Quest, Xak and Ys aren't good games is quite possibly the most idiotic thing I've ever heard in my life.
Ill bet money bombman hasn't even played Xak, got killed by a blue slime in DQ, and got lost trying to get equipment in Ys.
why are we still bumping this worthless thread?
.
There are lots of good western games on consoles! I enjoy Gun, Red Dead Revolver, and Darkwatch particularly.
What?
Still Around...Still Gamin'...
Considering how often you post on this board it was kind of right in front of your face, which was half the reason I posted it here.
I don't know, some people prefer using console controllers over keyboard and mouse. The lack of decent controllers in the past is the main reason I rarely played PC games.
I am disappointed that there's something of an actual conversation happening about western / Japanese / PC / console games; I was going to be in before lock.
I used to say PC = über alles, but lately the PC has little to recommend itself, over and above a console. The indie and flash games scenes are decent, but I'm not quite sure they've produced anything I'd consider genius-level yet - especially something that is PC exclusive and can't also be found on one of the major consoles (usually before it comes to PC).
You are startled by a grim snarl. Before you, you see 1 Red dragon. Will your stalwart band choose to (F)ight or (R)un?
Yawnnnnn pc&consoles are both electronics so i don't see one better then the other
