"I am only what you see me as." - Obsidian Rose
Are you asking a question or are you simply trolling for flames? Reguardless, your giving all the aperance your an idiot. I dont know what your after but I feel all the more stupid for having given you even a moment of my time.
I disagree.
Damn, guess I'll have to stop playing Mass Effect, Dragon Age Origins, X-Men Legends I and II, Marvel Ultimate Alliance I and II, Rock Band, Guitar Hero, Lego Star Wars and Lego Indiana Jones, and Eternal Darkness, among countless other titles, on my consoles.
I was misled into thinking that these western console games were actually good and worth playing on anything but a computer!

PC gaming in the modern era is a joke. The consoles like PS3 and 360 are as powerful as most gaming PCs, if not more powerful. For the price of one gaming PC, you can buy 5 Xbox 360's. Western games are great on consoles, unless you're into WOW.
heh, you guys PLAY your video games??? video games are for children. the only way to truly enjoy a game is to keep it sealed so it retains max value
.
Of course, that's because the PS3 and 360 have BECOME gaming PCs, in everything but name. Ever since Halo came out for the original XBOX we've seen a shitstorm of generic first person shooters, third person shooters and other types of games that were originally intended mostly for PCs. So in the end, PC gaming hasn't died - it's actually more alive than ever, and it's just shifted to a different platform and inferior control scheme.
I sort of agree with the original poster in many regards though - generally speaking the West has gotten a lot of things right from time to time (traditionally on computers such as the Commodore 64 and Amiga, and the PC of course), but most games ended up feeling like they were designed by the programmers rather than people with a clear vision. When it came to pure gameplay and attention to detail, the Japanese have always been (and still are) in a league of their own.
Then again, some of the best games I've ever played have been developed in the west: Deus Ex, Metroid Prime, Another World, Eternal Darkness, the LucasArts adventures, and several others.
I actually agree with the OP, and try to face west when playing games.
Let me explain to you real quick on the #1 reason you are wrong. Go load up Counter-Strike or Battlefield 2, then see how long it is before you exit the game because of some hacking retard with an aim-bot or some other program that pisses you off.
Fully agreed. As an self proclaimed EXPERT game collector if I say so myself, I do know that if a game is not factory Y fold sealed it loses 98.5% of its value, and if it is not in a temperature controlled environment it loses 103% of its value. I just use sit in my game room and fap to all of the beautiful cover arts and spines perfectly wrapped in fine shrink.
I disagree completely. I enjoyed both Gun on the 360 and Red Dead Revolver on the original Xbox, so clearly western games can be well done on consoles.

After his other thread (the prototype one), I'm surprised some people are still taking him seriously.
well, in OPs defense Wizardry 5 originated on PC...and Wizardry/M&M/Ultima for the most part is better on PC w/ the whole keyboard scheme....
that doesn't really change the fact that the SNES one is jawesome. the NES ones too.
though, Most modern RPGs for PC have gone by the wayside (M&M 9? Ultima Ascension? LOOOL). When was the last time a good first person RPG for the PC came out? Dont say oblivion. That isn't even close to being a great RPG.
console RPGs have held it together wayyyyy better.
also, this topic in general is lame.
