It's funny, the Athletic World you got was probably the original box that was akin to the Stadium Events box (i.e. not the pic you linked below). That box is worth about $150. The box you linked to is worth next to nothing! A CIB PP is worth $100? Not completely sure on that.

That's the second revision of Athletic World, the first one has a larger version of the cartoon running guy from the bottom left of the box you posted and Family Fun Fitness written across over top of the title.

I'm curious to see how much Stadium Events goes for, I didn't see the other auction until way later.

Does it amaze anyone else that a sealed mint copy of this game went for $3,000 only some time back and now used copies are selling for $10,000+? Something just doesn't add up, anyways it must be nice to have that kind of expendable income.

When desperation sets in, there is no holding back those who want a copy.

Yeah, tell me about it. Shouldn't prices be down in a recession?

Why can't I find at least 50 sealed copies in the wild for cheap?

That way I don't have to worry about money for 50 years (a sale a year).

But joking aside, if a CIB copy goes for so high now, I wonder how much a sealed copy would go for now?

That is because the $3000 one wasn't in a bidding war. It was a private deal between a collector and some guy that happened to have one. Also the guy in question was going to be deployed so he wanted to sell the stuff fast.

Wasn't that one actually a pseudo seal as well?

No, it was the real deal. That copy was up for auction originally - the high bidder flaked and the seller farmed it out to people who bid, including myself and D_N_G (Yeah, we regret not snapping it up). AndrewB won it for $800.

Wow, what a cool story. I mean, it's always awesome when a collector finds something very rare and valuable for cheap, but the fact that this lady knew nothing about what she had, probably just originally bought it to entertain her kids and now decided to get rid of it because they'd rather have a Wii or something. It's already been said, but the first thing that crossed my mind too was that it must feel like she won the lottery. And then she goes on about all the bills she be able to pay off and such; it warms my heart to hear a story like this during this sour economy.

Anybody claim their $13k prize yet?
...I'm tempted to see if someone tries to pull some shenanigans in payment here.

$13k is a pretty healthy price at open auction. Congrats to the winner!

I don't think I could get $13k for my whole collection.

That's refreshing to know that she won't have to go through eBay drama for this.

    Default NES sells for $13k!?

Okay I thought this was a clear cut case of wild Ebay bidding but it turns out not to be that wild. Well still a bit pricey for what the buyer received but you be the judge. I also must say the sellers handle is absolutely classy.
