I was looking on the scoreboard to see if "Asteroids Deluxe" was listed for Atari 7800. I was surprised to see that it was listed, since it is a homebrew. I noticed the only score for the game from Ron Corcoran was from 2001. does anyone know which version of the game this is? from the pic, http://www.twingalaxies.com/index.aspx?c=23&gi=5355 it does not look like the official 7800 game from Atari, which is called "Asteroids." here are the pics of that game:

here is info about the official game:

so, the one on the scoreboard must be a homebrew? if not, the game name for Ron's score should be changed to "Asteroids" if it is in fact the official Atari 7800 version, but that pic for sure is not from the 7800 version as I already pointed out.

I recently got "Asteroids Deluxe" and it is a homebrew made by Bob DeCrescenzo and it came out in 2007.

I did more research on the internet about Asteroids Deluxe. that pic is the homebrew that I have. eventhough it says 1987, it also says 2007 (this is the year it was released). homebrewers usually like to have the original copyright year of the game on the label if it is a coin-op port or hack. this one is a hack. Asteroids for 7800 came out in 1987. Asteroids Deluxe is a hack of Asteroids. looks like there was no Pal version called Asteroids Deluxe. in fact, for the Pal version, Asteroids was built into the 7800.

the original name of the 7800 Asteroids was going to be 3D Asteroids. then in a 7800 catalog it was listed as Deluxe Asteroids http://www.atariage.com/catalog_page...&currentPage=0, but it was changed to Asteroids when it was released.
