Sports games are like a plague on most thrift stores I've seen.

It doesn't help when stores like goodwill start selling all the decent games and game lots on ebay either.

Six years ago? I had other things on my mind back then but my video game collection has probably doubled in that amount of time. Unfortunately, I have much more than 8 games remaining until I get all the games I've ever wanted

it never ever felt as satisfying. I didn't have that warm feeling; I would feel empty. I eventually hit the saturation point and realized I couldn't continue like that, so I pretty much stopped.

Guess I'm just trying to say that it's all about the journey, not the destination.

Sports games are like a plague on most thrift stores I've seen. I think it's because the people who get into football games the most are the kind of people who don't care what machine they play them on. They don't have any loyalty to any particular console, so when a new machine comes out they get rid of the old one just to have the better graphics, even though the gameplay is the same.

I've found all sorts of good (and occasionally rare) games and consoles in thrifts, it just takes perseverance. When I started thrifting, I didn't find anything good at first. I was about to throw in the towel, but I made one last round of stores and I bought a Vectrex for $5. After that I got the 'bug'. You might hit the same stores a dozen times and not find a thing, but all it takes is that one crazy find that keeps you motivated into going to all those dumpy thrift stores and flea markets.

That's the truth. I've only found one great thing in a thrift store, a CDX for $20, but I keep on going back just for the thrill. It's fun just to go around to thrift shops, pawn shops, and flea markets if only for the fun of looking.

It just really isn't the same with going on Ebay and buying something, unless it is something I've been been dying to have. I think the last thing I bought on Ebay was actually a PS3. Mainly because nearly all of my big purchases turn out sour.

Back to the topic at hand, I guess I do have a similar experience. Back at the turn of the decade I became really into Sonic. I decided then and there to purchase every US released Sonic Game Gear game. This wasn't very hard considering I had most of them, but it was fun to do. I eventually got them all and still remember getting Sonic Labyrinth, the last game I needed, and not wanting to realize it sucked.

I know it's not big deal compared to other's triumphs., but I was in middle school at the time. Perhaps one day I'll go out and find Sonic Drift and Tails Skypatrol to truly complete it.

Great work at collecting 8 games. Just wait till you hit 9, that's when storage becomes an issue
