Default The funnest 8/16 bit sports games WITHOUT stats/management?

I have an itch to play some old-school sports games WITHOUT stats. I don't care about stats and managing teams and all that crap. I just want to flip a switch and start playing immediately. Prefer with good computer A/I too!

What would you recommend for baseball, football, basketball, and hockey?

    PS: I don't care about graphics/sound.

Ice Hockey or Blades of Steel. Hockey doesn't get much better than this.

Ice Hockey for the NES. Not even EA Sports could top the fun and hilarity that Ice Hockey brought to me and my friends. What's even more fun are the cheats. The "Super Puck" cheat is one of the best cheats in gaming history. Shoot the puck, and it slides and bounces all over the entire rink until a player gathers control of it, or it goes into the goal for a score. Add the "No Goalies" cheat to the "Super Puck" cheat, and you'll have the highest scoring game in hockey history. Me and a friend scored a combined 66 goals with Super Puck and no goalies. Since then, sports games haven't been as fun.

You can't go wrong with the classic NES Tecmo Bowl. I've heard that it's "Tecmo Super Bowl" incarnations on the SNES were better, but I haven't played them, just thought I'd let ya know.

I seen some pictures of RBI baseball - and I know I should have said it earlier. For baseball, what were the GOOD playable games that had EVERYTHING on ONE screen. No switching to 3D-esque and such.

If you like your games with a little imagination, you MUST try Basewars on the NES. It was basically baseball with robots, and when you get tagged out, you get to fight for it. I forget who made it, but it should be pretty cheap (or can be found as a ROM, if you're going that route).

What about NBA Jam or NBA Jam: TE? I know they did have a way to manage stats, but it does give you the option to play without keeping track of your stats. Great games too!

I have to vote for Blades Of Steel as well. It's the only sports game I ever went out of my way to track down, that's how much I like it.
