In loo of the Earthbound rule going for a couple hundred greenbacks, I saw this an had to post it ASAP:

I found it linked from EarthboundCentral.com. They post a daily blog, and usually have some interesting (a lot of the time INSANE) Earthbound merch up for auction. I know VGA-Certified stuff can be pretty pricey, but it'll be something else watching how this game settles or sells.

If somebody buys that they deserve to get punched in the throat. Buying sealed is one thing, but 6g's just because it's "VGA certified" and slabbed. If you search around you will see not many people around here think to kindly about slab jobs.

I can understand why some people (and perhaps even most on Digital Press) don't like the VGA Graded Games. However, the company that is doing the grading is very well respected in that field. They have been grading other toys for years and simply expanded to cover Video Games since there was demand for it.

I have been tracking VGA Graded Video Games for almost 2 years and they sell through is low. However, I have seen some of the better games sell for very high premium. It will be interesting to see if this game sells at all.

I do think the asking price is high, but they are accepting offers. My guess, if it sells, will sell for no more than $3,000.

I'm hoping to find a copy some day, I won't spend any crazy amount for it though. I could have had a loose copy for under $10 but passed on it as I didn't have a SNES at the time.
