The matrix resets and Mario is back in the mushroom kingdom.

Mario traveled through the cosmos and through time itself. Then the mushrooms wore off.

You forgot the part where he had to fly around the earth at light speed and turn time back to stop princess daisy from dieing.

Super Mario Land 2 tells us that "after returning from rescuing Daisy from Tatanga" he sees that his castle has been taken over by Wario who locked the gate by scattering the six golden coins.

So we know where he goes after he lands the spaceship. The only question that remains is what does he do with Daisy in the spaceship (heeheehee haahaa!) and where does he actually land the ship? Does he land it in the Mushroom Kingdom where Daisy finds home in Peach's castle or does he let her off in her hometown before continuing home?

I'm a collector, but only to a certain extent.
Not as extreme as Rickstilwell though.[/quote]

Wow! I just beat that game again. Great game. Most Mario games until Super Mario World don't have that happily ever after ending. Hell, smb2 usa was just a dream! I just wish Mario and the princess will finally get married and bone already, making a real Yoshi's Island 2 based on Mario's kids.

But then, we never hear about Mario's castle (or "Mario Land" with its giant Mario statue) ever again. Maybe it's symbolic.
