Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned for Sega. - Brodie Bruce
Love the crowd reactions to Mario jumping in and out of the background.
Kids today, they can't even comprehend this, but back before the Virtual Boy, everyone was sure that virtual reality and true 3D was the future of tv and video games. Like in Back to the Future Part 2 when Marty thinks he's going to be eaten by the virtual shark. I can totally understand the excitement, even though the VB ended up being really clunky and hard to play comfortably and gave people migraines.
It's neat to see the footage. The Starfox footage is blech, looks like they barely even had anything to show. Mario Land is more game to show off.
Yet another topic for me to be depressed about what could have been yet never was.
But screw "for 1995", my mind is blown right now. I'm fully confident that Mario Land would've been an excellent game, who knows maybe even better than VB Wario Land which I'd say is the best game in the entire Wario franchise, and it's fantastic to see video footage of both Mario Land and Star Fox. Kudos to whoever unearthed this, and I sincerely hope someone can do the same with some prototypes in the future.
"DAMN." Video downloads are available over at planetvb.com.

Those looked surprisingly fun, compared to the rest of the VB games. I wonder why they scrapped the ideas after that.
this is the youtube channel of the guy who uploaded that video. http://www.youtube.com/user/Grooveraider there's some pretty interesting videos on there.
Great stuff
Very cool! I actually owned a Virtual Boy back in the day, and Mario Land would have been great. It's a shame Nintendo didn't have a flagship Mario title available on day one. Instead we got Mario Clash, which was fun, but nothing special.
Virtual Boy had some potential. Had it not been for the system horrible aesthetic design, it might have had a chance.
And I'm sure this commercial didn't help win people over http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhbpBMzjE1A.
