Default Nintendo Power - What was the NES cut off point?

Kind of weird question for all the NP people out there -

What was the last Nintendo Power magazine to feature an NES game in a 'current' fashion, meaning it wasn't a flashback, etc.

I would assume it's somewhere in the Wario Woods area (1994?) but I'm looking for the absolute last possible issue for it.

I'm basically assembling a complete-up-to-that-point of NPs to go along side my almost done cart-only NES library.

    Thanks!
    Jason

Actually, you probably COULD help, because by issue 94, the NES was long gone. I seem to remember Wario Woods being the last featured review for an NES game in Nintendo Power, but that's not a definite answer. I no longer have my NP collection... something I largely regret.

Should be 1994, yeah. I'm fairly certain that they reviewed The Flintstones: Surprise at Dinosaur Peak, which wouldn't have been flashback coverage, and according to the 'net, that came out in August 1994. I don't know if any new NES coverage squeaked its way into 1995, but I'm guessing not. If Wario's Woods got coverage, I'd guess that would be in the November or December 1994 issues at the latest.

That would also be interesting to find out the SNES and Nintendo 64 cut off points as well. I can do both of those ones myself as that is the era of Nintendo Power I owned. all my mags are in my friend's shed though as I never used them anymore...

I'll open them back up for Nostalgia many years later.

I'm a collector, but only to a certain extent.
Not as extreme as Rickstilwell though.[/quote]

It's looking like NES' absolute last cut off issue was the January 95. Unless there's a counsoler's corner, or some such, looks like Jan 95 is the big nail in the coffin.

The last NES game came out in Dec. 1994, so that would make sense.

NP must be one of USs longest running game magazines by now, quite impressive

I remeber seeing coverage of Startropics 2: Zoda's Revenge in a late 94 issue.

Didn't they usually cover games prior to their release? I wonder why they dragged their feet with Wario's Woods. I guess it was a low priority. Was the previous issue covering big-name games?
