The big day had finally arrived; Game-X-Change finally opened a store in my hometown (With a really awesome Master Chief statue in the window), so now I have an alternative to our Gamestop, with it's bitch of a manager. I went on on their first day open, brought in some stuff I didn't want anymore, and proceeded to look around; almost getting some games for my Sega Genesis (Nothing worth mentioning) until I saw 2 Super NES games I had been trying to find copies of for years.

    - Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (Super NES. Loose in decent condition): $30
    - Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (Super NES. Loose in decent condition): $20
    - Kirby's Dream Land (Game Boy. Loose in very good condition): $6

I had been wanting to get copies of Yoshi's Island and Super Mario RPG for years, although SMW2 was rarely seen and SMRPG always had a habit of poping up when I don't have enough money to get it. Since I had enough, I got both, and also picked up Kirby with what I had left in credit, since it was a fairly cheap and enjoyable game. Maybe if I'm lucky, the existence of a local Game-X-Change may result in copies of Kirby's Dream Land 3 and EarthBound surfacing...

It was my town's city-wide garage sale today, so I decided go out for a few hours and check it out.

I had no luck finding any games though. All the gaming stuff I saw was either incomplete, something I already owned, or something I knew I wouldn't play anyway.

    Here's what I did get:

6 Playstation Magazines for $1.00 - These are all from the PS1 era. I think there might be a UK magazine in the stack too.

2 Care Bear Plush Dolls for $5.00 - This one of the other things I've been collecting recently. One is large sitting Shine Bright Bear that looks like it might have been a carnival prize. The other is a 1980's vintage Bedtime Bear that has the fur color of a Wish Bear plush. FYI: Bedtime Bear is supposed to blue not aqua green like this bear is. Apparently this is due to a factory error that Kenner had back in the '80's.

Twilight Paperback Novel for $3.00 - I've been wanting to check this series out.

Oh, and I picked up something from my local collectibles shop as well:

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for $15.00 (CIB) - The original asking price was $30, but traded a couple of games I never play to knock the price down.

Found these at the flea today:

    -Splinter Cell (Xbox, complete) $3
    -Actraiser 2 (SNES, loose) $5

Not bad. Its been pretty dry gaming-wise around here, so anything feels like a wonderful find. I've just gotta keep my head held high and continue to look!
    In Heaven, everything is fine.

Electronics flea market for this month was this morning. I wasn't going to go at first but decided to take a quick look. I didn't find what I was looking for (couple Shuttle PC's) but I ended up buying an Atari 2600 assortment on the way out that I saw on the way in. I asked about cartridges but said I'd take everything if they'd rather do it that way. Originally was $1.00 a cartridge or so and asked $30.00 for everything, but they accepted $20.00. Now I didn't take a picture of the contents of the assortment when I brought it home and most of it was demolished junk. Off the top of my head the stuff that I scrapped and salvaged what I could, then tossed the rest was...

    2600 Vader console
    2600 Light Sixer console
    4-5 standard VCS joysticks
    2 sets standard VCS paddles
    Atari 2600 Trak-Ball
    3 Atari Video Touchpads
    Tangle of cables

All that stuff was totally destroyed and only yielded a small supply of parts. What I was left with is all the cartridges and two sets of paddles. One of the paddles is the Sears variant which I didn't have. There was also a VCS power supply that was salvageable.

    Air Sea Battle
    Amidar
    Asteroids
    Asteroids
    Asteroids
    Asteroids
    Astroblast
    Blackjack
    Blueprint
    California Games
    Combat
    Decathlon
    Demon Attack
    Dodge 'em
    Flash Gordon
    Frogger
    Human Cannonball
    M.A.D.
    Othello
    Outer Space
    Race
    RealSports Baseball
    Robot Tank
    Sky Diver
    Space Cavern
    Turmoil
    Video Olympics
    Video Pinball
    Warlords
    Worm War I
    Yars' Revenge

Some of these I either didn't have or they are a different variant. Only other items I picked up were a copy of Cruis'n World for the N64 and a bootleg Famicom multicart for $3.00 each.

Nothing exciting on the multicart, it's all standard stuff you'd expect to find.

I did the flea market today. I spent around $60 and got a bunch of stuff from various booths. I got a Shure slx4 wireless mic receiver for $20 (worth $150 on eBay) and a Bose ipod dock power supply for $4 ($50 on eBay) so I don't feel bad spending that much. (damn, i love being able to look up things on eBay with my phone ) I got a small lot of 12 2600 games (most interesting in the lot is Shark Attack) a few SNES games, a Ti-89 (which I think may be broken), the original B&W Link's Awakening gameboy game, a TG16 power supply (FS/FT), and some other things.

    Pics are forthcoming...

My dad has an iPhone and I have a Samsung Impression. Since we're on the same plan I only have to pay $10 a month for internet. It's soooo useful, as I've already made back that $10 and some from being able to look up things that I have no clue about.

There's a story for all of this, so please excuse the wall of text.

This is from today, sans 3 things I got (the Shure SLX4, the Bose power supply, and a Radio Shack microphone I got to use; it's actually made by Shure for Radio Shack) I went to a booth where a junk dealer I know was set up. He has games occasionally (and not bad prices), but I hate dealing with him since he's one of the most annoying people on Earth. He had all those Atari 2600 games today. I asked how much for them and he walked over to me, and then said "I bet I know which ones you want!". He then took Frogger, Donkey Kong, MASH, and a Pac-Man and set them to the side. I said "Well, really I just want this one." and I picked up Shark Attack. I sort of wanted MASH but it's not in the best of shape. He told me he wanted $5 for the whole pile. I thought about it and then told him I'd take it if he'd throw in something else I'd picked up at his booth (a Casio camera battery charger) and he thought about it for a minute and accepted. I didn't really need/want this lot, since a lot of the games are common and a little beat up, but the price was right and I wanted Shark Attack. MASH, Space Attack, and Shark Attack are going to my collection. There's a bonus "mystery" Activision game, I'm betting it's either Pitfall or Starmaster.

At another booth I visited there was a hispanic guy that I know that resales electronics. He always has piles of adapters and I like to look through them for stuff I need. (I always hope to find a 9.5v X'Eye adapter) I found a Bose iPod Sounddock adapter and TG16 power supply, then I noticed he had some games. I picked out Tetris Attack, Wordtris, Breakthru!, and Link's Awakening ($3 a piece). I also found that Ti-89 ($4), shame that it has that weird dark spot on it's LCD. I'm thinking it's messed up but I can always hope that it works. I also spotted the Shure SLX4 there and quickly typed it in an eBay search on my phone, and found out that it was worth more than his $20 asking price (lol, if it works $100+. The resaler's reasoning for selling it so cheap was because it didn't have a microphone. /me laughs). I piled everything together and the guy said $40, which I thought was a fair price. I'd have to think about it, I dunno if he gave me a discount on everything, but I thought the price was good, considering the amount I'm going to get in resale. Breakthru! is an R6, which is a plesant suprise, and Tetris Attack is minty and complete, though the box is a bit crushed. Actually, all 4 games I got there were minty, which is rare for this guy. The TG16 power supply and the SLX4 are filthy.

The pewter belt buckle was $1, and it's an advertising one for Marantz (the high-end audio company). I just thought it was neat.

EDIT: I think the buckle might've been some custom promotional thing for Marantz. I could only find this about it.

This is the stuff I found on Thursday. It was $3 for everything. The Super Bomberman is a an ex-rental, though I think I might be able to clean it up. And here's something uncommon: Loose minty Atari games.
