Default Game Boy Color Box Variations? Pics Included - Need Confirmation

I've done some searching and I'm curious as to what these variations are really. The examples I'm using are for Zelda oracle of ages (pics found off ebay).

One you will notice has a flat bottom (Picture 1). This version doesn't have a removable tray insert but instead has it housed inside the box for the game. The second version (Picture 2) seems to have a interlaced bottom box and instead has a removable tray insert that you can pull out from the box, and it has a holder for the game.

Does anyone have more information on this? I don't know if one was an earlier printing, or what. But if so does this trend carry on for other Gameboy and gameboy+ games? Is there a list available if so? Excuse all my questions, I'm a very curious man.

It may be the lighting, but one of them seems to have a lot more color variation in the art. The first one is almost entirely red, but the second it's easier to see colors like pink and yellow.

Do they have separate UPCs? It looks like the second one, the sealed one, is a reprint.

Did a quick check and the UPC's are identical.

There is a third variation as well. Those two up there have a metallic finish on the box (most noticeable on the tree silhouette). There is a matte box that doesn't have the "Play both..." message.

If the UPC is the same, then they should technically be the same game - it's just a box variant at that point.

Do they have different part numbers on the boxes?

I have several part numbers, feel free to look for them.
