It's haters GONNA hate. And no, I am not trying too hard. I said that the day I took it out of the box.

"Sweet, 400$ for a giant maxi pad!"

and then it broke, was replaced, broke again, etc. Junk.

The PC Engine series has its own range of monstrosities. The SGX may have been designed to look like a high-performance engine, but inside it's really a moped.
Monstrosities? Nothing the PC Engine made looked bad. What was a monstrosity?

    Briefcase unit? Nope
    Shuttle? Pfsht
    Core Grafx? Nah
    SGFX? Hell no!

They all look nice and sleek. Even the massive SGFX. and it still manages to look neat with the clunker SCD addon unit.

as for it being a moped inside. Uhhhh. No. Like PCE Hell already said. It stomped the mega drive ghouls and ghosts.....quite effortlessly too.

and have you seen Aldynes? Cmon.

a 7mhz 6502-based machine, twice the video capacity of the original PCE.... where is the moped? lol.

128k VRAM is awholeeee lotta VRAM to work with dude.

I specifically like the use of color and raised/lowered areas on the Super Famicom. The gray makes it look heavy, more sophisticated than other consoles.

The original Japanese front-loading Neo Geo CD system.

I have one brand new in the box. It's the best looking system in my opinion.

Lots of model 2 fans out there however I have to disagree.
GENESIS model 1 all the way... it just looks right for me. feels right.

I don't think I could pick any console I think looks the best. To me its like being a room full of Playboy Playmates. They are all beautiful! (and like consoles, manufactured! If you get what im saying...)
NES, Atari 7800, Genesis, SNES, Saturn, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, PlayStation 2, GameCube, Atari Flashback 2, Limited Edition Red Wii, PS3 Slim, GBC, GBA, GBASP, DS Lite, and PSP 3000.

IMO, the Dreamcast has always been one of the best looking systems. I always liked the proportions and the odd curving on the sides.

It goes both ways too. Many consoles that look nice in photos aren't so hot in person. A good example of a system that you have to experience first hand to fully appreciate its beauty is the PC Engine GT/Turbo Express. By far the best looking game system ever made. There are so many elegant contours that are hidden from just looking at photos. Even areas that are normally the blandest or clunkiest like the battery cover and expansion port were crafted with aesthetics in mind. Al the detailing perfectly compliments the overall design and color and this is one of the rare instances where the non-japanese version actually looks better (same with the TurboDuo). It's always felt to me like a console manifestation of R-Type.

As for straight-consoles, the original PC Engine and CoreGrafx II are the best and most video-game-console looking consoles of all time.

Another console high on my list but nowhere near as beautiful as those I've already mentioned is the japanese Multi-Mega and to a lesser extent the Sega CDX.

The original Wonder Mega looks very nice in photos, but I don't have any hands-on experience with it.

As far as older systems go, I always liked the SNES , the PSone, and the Genesis. Among current consoles, I love the shiny, fat PS3, and the new black Wii looks like a sleek machine.
