Default Any rountine maintenance that you do for your cabs?

Well I do own a neo geo mvs but I rarely turn it on but Im panning on getting a Galaga/Ms pacman cab. Im just wondering as a arcade newb if there's something I should know about maintaining these machines?

Preventative maintenance is something I go ahead and do with every cab I have. A cap kit on the monitor is something I've done on the 3 cabs I have. Every cabinet is different, so they require specific attention to areas others may not require. I don't know much about the Pac/Galaga cab or the MVS as they're both newer cabinets. I'd really recommend doing the cap kit, after identifying which monitor you have in each cabinet.

Default I turn everything on atleast once a week..besides stuff I don't use.

With the MVS cabs I turn them on atleast once a week to keep the battery on motherboard charged...If you lose your settings your battery may be dead and or it can leak, ruin board

I leave.them running through the demos for like 30 minutes..or if I forget an Hour.
Most the time my kids start playing them so..

The Monitor in my Big Red MVS cab is original to the cab and knock on wood it works great..I'd like to cap kit t someday as cap kits do wonders..
Since the monitor is old it takes like 3-4 seconds to come up..

But the monitor in the Big Red MVS 2 slot that I sold to my friend takes much longer if you let the cab sit off longer...It's crisp but if not used atleast once a week it takes a few minutes for the monitor to warm up..
Weather for me makes a difference..
My cabs are in my Apt..if it's cold I like to run them at room temperature,..
My friend has the 2 slot in his basement,it gets cold in the winter and I'd be weary to start the cab when it's been sitting in very cold conditions..
    ..

I run my Pinball machine atleast once a week as it's an old EM..Trick with them is to keep them going by playing them often..

Ms Pacman Coctail table I also turn on once a week..It's old original>original monitor..
I let it run a bit keeping everything going..
