Default Console game production #'s. what is out there?

Not sure if that has been brought up a million times already.
I am interested in production #'s of classic console games...
Mainly snes and genesis. Any data floating out there? I am guessing it’s scattered and incomplete if any.

Sales numbers are pretty easy to find, but actual production could be more difficult to determine.

I imagine most console manufacturers wouldn't want that publicised since it would show just how much unsold inventory they never were able to move.

An ebay seller based in Thailand recently put up for sale about 30 or so brand new Asian PAL Mega Drive 2's and a few South-east Asian Sega Saturns. I always keep an eye for stuff like that.

As for sales figures, a cursory Google revealed these two Wikipedia entries:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of..._game_consoles
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Console_wars

Gives some solid info (info which I've seen bantered about in lots of places on the internet over the years).
