Not sure if that has been brought up a million times already.
I am interested in production #'s of classic console games...
Mainly snes and genesis. Any data floating out there? I am guessing it’s scattered and incomplete if any.

Sales numbers are pretty easy to find, but actual production could be more difficult to determine.
I imagine most console manufacturers wouldn't want that publicised since it would show just how much unsold inventory they never were able to move.

ok cool, sale numbers work also.
Gives me a tickle just thinking about what games may be mothballed warehoused somewhere!
not sure how accurate or how far back it goes but you could try http://www.vgchartz.com/
An ebay seller based in Thailand recently put up for sale about 30 or so brand new Asian PAL Mega Drive 2's and a few South-east Asian Sega Saturns. I always keep an eye for stuff like that.Originally Posted by arcadecup
As for sales figures, a cursory Google revealed these two Wikipedia entries:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Console_wars
Gives some solid info (info which I've seen bantered about in lots of places on the internet over the years).
Cool thanks for the links guys!.. really apreciate it. These are great! Ruffling through them now.
