Back on topic: I love the idea of a new Kid Icarus, but, at the same time, that trailer didn't really feel like Kid Icarus to me. I don't know... I guess I dunno what I was expecting in a new installment in the franchise. Perhaps another 2D side-scrolling adventure. Oh well... at least the story will finally continue. I'll buy it.

Sure you can. Look at the sales figs, they are blowing all other markets out of the water. Why change a winning formula? They have never really done many "M" games, their bread and butter is their staples. Which are all E-T rated.

It sounds like Nintendo had an awesome show. I've been trying to watch it(and Sony's) but most sites don't have them posted yet. Hopefully I'll get to watch them later tonight.

I gotta say I was pleasantly surprised with Nintendos conference. i thought the 3DS would literally be the DS with minimal upgrades but, by the looks of the pics, the graphics for the 3DS look pretty damn nice so far..

The specs give a resolution of 800x240, but the 3D effect uses 400 horizontal pixels for each part of the stereoscopic image. Does this mean that the actual resolution is 400x240?
They said it was all the wireless blogging going on that was interferring with the Wiimote, and apparently it was true, since the impressions that came out after people tried out the game for themselves said the gameplay was very smooth.
I'm jazzed man. I'm always up for a new Zelda, and the new Donkey Kong and Kirby games are keeping side scrolling alive and away from "download only" territory. I was a bit disappointed by the Kirby game at first, but when Kirby grabbed a button and drew the landscape together like a curtain, that little bit won me over.
The new Mario Vs. Donkey Kong looks fun as well.
Kid Icarus. Damn. I was joking with some friends last night that we'd see a Clu Clu Land update before we saw a new Kid Icarus, but wow. This, along with the Star Fox 64 remake, is going to make it very difficult for me to hold off on a 3DS for very long.

You guys notice how when the PSP was released and it has a couple ports in its line up everyone is bitching about how it has nothing but ports. Or how the PSP has a single analog stick and it's like. System sucks because it only has one analog.
Well now look at the DS. Around a third of the games announced are ports and it's got a single, although nice looking, analog. Also Tony the Tiger, no offense, as well as other "I hope the 3DS gets more ports from N64 or more ports from etc."
People are honestly a bunch of hypocrites.
That said. I want a 3DS.

Yes, the 3DS has but one stick, but it also has a touch screen. A touch screen provides absolute movement, which an analog stick does not. Thus, you can play shooters on a 3DS, whilst you can only fumble around with shooters on a PSP.
Still, the software lineup is definitely full of ports. Time will tell if it's a solid platform or not. At the moment, I'm using my PSP a lot for RPGs, while my DS languishes with Pokemon in the slot.
I'm looking at the 3DS screenshots, and I'm actually pretty pleased with the quality. I haven't played enough 3D games on PSP yet to accurately compare the two, but it's definitely a competent system.
WOW. Nintendo imo scored at e3 and was best of show. Games galore!
I'm really interested in trying this 3DS out as well, hopefully it fairs better than some of their past "gimmicks", but yeah Nintendo really imo had a great fucking show, they focused on what matters games and not just games but their "key franchise games", while also solidifying their domination of the handheld market "if it works".

Graphically the 3DS wins over the PSP. Where the 3DS looks to be between PS2 and XBOX graphics, the PSP is between Dreamcast and PS2 graphics. Atleast that's what it looks like from the screenshots.
Since the 3DS has backwards compatibility between all DS titles, I think it's safe to say that it will soon be better than the PSP.
Now it's time for Sony to release a PSP2. Make it backwards compatible and Bluray UMD format. Also don't screw up and make it so easily hackable this time. A 1080p screen that also updates all other PSP games to 1080p and a 2ms max response speed would also be nice(hopefully it's lower, but the original PSP is somewhere around 4-5ms LCD. Just a guess.)
