    Default CD+G karaoke/music CD's

Having more than a few consoles that support the CD+G cd, I would like to know what CD+G cd's exist? I have the first Information Society cd, ya know the one with pure energy on it.. and it's an awesome CD+G cd.

I can never find a list on the internet or anywhere that states all the known CD+G cds out there.

Maybe we can start compiling a list.

I would also like to know because it would be nice to do some Karaoke on my X'Eye since it has a mic input.

So I'll start the list of CD+G cd's that I know about:

Information Society - Self Titled (with the pure energy song)
And the CD+G disc that came with the Sega CD

I have the same Information Society CD, and I bought it without knowing about it's CD+G feature. Another non-karaoke CD+G I have is

    JVC JAZZ FESTIVAL '89

I don't know whether to call the Information Society a Karaoke CD or not. I know it plays the lyrics, so technically it is not. But.. with a console like the Wondermega or the X'Eye, since it has a MIC input you can still sing the lyrics along with the artist.

I noticed that there are a TON of karaoke CD's that just show the lyrics and play the background music, but I guess I am more interested in knowing what more are out there that are like the Information Society CD?

Tell me more about that Jazz CD. JVC? Did it come with the wondermega or X'Eye?

They both just produce images along side the music. CD-G wasn't made for karaoke alone. Check this site out http://www.cdplusg.com/cdplusg/Main.html

About the JVC disc, I don't think it came with those systems, certainly not the Wondermega, it's a U.S. market disc. The case and disc mention FOR PROMOTIONAL USE, not for sale, and such.

Oh sweet, guess there is no need to make a list, there is a discography on that site. Thanks man!

Oooh Jimi Hendrix, Classical Music, Fleetwood Mac, man I got some CD's I need to buy now!

There sure were not that many of them. It's too bad the format didn't work out quite as well as it should have. And it's too bad there were not too many BIG name bands hopping on the bandwagon. I guess there was no need with MTV and all.

You know, I was thinking. I am actually watching TV right now, you know those music stations that are on the cable channels? They show pictures, give you information about the artists and the tracks, etc. It kind of reminds me of a modern CD+G with much better graphics heh. RIP CD+G

CD+G has been dead for a LOOOOOOOONG time. As a retro media collector, it should still be appreciated. The only CD+Gs still being made are strictly karaoke, and have basically only lyrics. I wish Pandora and Last.fm had additional info and stuff like that displayed in that fashion.
