Default Classic Video Game Homerun Derby - the big Youtube baseball finale

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnK8zV6fq4E

lots of systems, lots of baseball games, lots of home runs.

i cover pretty much every other classic system in this video. im sure everyone has their favorites, but i want to take the opportunity to express my hatred for super action baseball on the colecovision. you have to use the spinners on the super action controllers to get your men to run the bases. playing that game is like every overacted video game playing scene in a movie... you know... the one where the guy or kid is hunched over the controller with a grimace on his face pressing the buttons really hard and overacting in general... that is playing this game.

my nostalgic favorite is great baseball on the master system. that home run music is epic.

Wow, you are the first person I've come across who has said something positive about any of the "Great" series of sports games on the SMS. Now with that said, my nostalgic favorite will always be Homerun on the 2600. It was my very first baseball video game and I must have played that a thousand times as a kid. Sure controlling all three outfielders at once was cumbersome, but I didn't know any different back then.

As with the other videos, very well done.

for 1987, great baseball was quite good. its only competition was nintendo baseball, and it blows that game out of the water. sure the fielders are slow, but i love the pinch hitters, fleet footed in particular. i like the voice samples, i love the tv (bases loaded style... before bases loaded) presentation, and of course i love the home run music.

its nowhere near the suck that was great basketball

Wow, Pete Rose Baseball on the Atari 2600 looks incredible. How does it play though?

World Series Major League Baseball on the Intellivision also looks impressive, especially the multiple camera angles.

pete rose plays ok, the pace of the game is a little sluggish but it is a technical marvel on the 2600

world series on the intellivision ecs (computer adapter) i cant fairly rate, the only copy i could find on ebay was sealed and priced over 200 dollars. so i stuck with emulation on the intellivision rocks disc. and rather than put up with keyboard controls, i simply had the computer play itself. like pete rose, it was a very ambitious game, but gameplay wise, it looked overly difficult.
