What I am talking about is the hardware and the software that controls the hardware, that is all you need to make N64 software.

Of course you need manuals and assemblers/compilers to make the code you are going to run but running the code is the difficult part not making it.

Too bad the guy selling the GD-Rom writer is living in a fantasy land. Sure, they are hard to find, but they aren't worth 8000 pounds. Also, when an item is recalled by a company (especially Sega) it becomes easier to find because employees are notorious for taking these things home (and selling them) rather than destroying them. In my experience, third party developers are much more likely to destroy their old development equipment than the actual manufacturer is when they "recall" them.

The Choplifter proto is not the final release. I have that version and among other things, it is missing the demo at the start of the game. It is very close to the final though.

As for the Intellivision test carts, someone found a large stash of them about a year ago. That's why you're suddenly seeing them all over the place. I'm not sure what the difference is between the B&W and the blue label is though (probably a later run).

Oh and I won the Zimag Tanks proto. I recently found some pictures of some Zimag protos and they look just like it. I think this one is legit (either that or I'm out $26).

yeah I saw that one I didn't want to give it any more attention than it deserved.

Didn't best have some REAL protos?

How can you tell a real best proto from a fake one?
