It's like they took The Simpsons Arcade game and River City Ransom and created some good wholesome retro love.

For the first time ever, I wish I owned a PS3.
.
Do you have an Xbox? They don't mention it much- but I guess it comes out end of Aug on 360. It's only a timed exclusive on PS3 from what I understand. I have a PS3- but I do most of my gaming on my Xbox, so I was a little sad when they announced this first.
Go figure Now all I have to worry about is that Dead Nation game :P
XBL on August 25th as it stands.
Bury me with my money......*dies*
Looks like a throw back to river city ransom,so sign me up!!
Looks great, even if I don't get this Scott Pilgrim thing at all.
Glad to see the companies paying attention to the public. Focusing on content over aesthetics. I really rather have a well done 16 bit game than a crappy 32 or 64 bit game. I think they are pushing the envelope on DL content. This is the future of video gaming.
It's available for download.
I tried the demo, and while I found it a bit repetitive (first level was a bit too long), I really enjoyed it.
Thinking about picking it up. $10 too...hmm
Proud owner of a Neo 25 Neo Geo Candy Cab!
I bought it. The first level is long but the second is short. I think the first is long because it's the one with the shops and there are a lot of them.
All of the old beat em ups were repetitive as well, and this game has a ton of references to other games, like the Alpha 3 opening.
I have never read a Scott Pilgrim comic so I don't notice any of the comic references but I'm sure they're in there.
I tried making a thread about this two months ago and nobody seemed to care.

Good game so far, got to act 2 and it changes the pace up nicely, I have a pretty major gripe with the game though, it has crashed my system 3 times, the audio cuts/glitches out at times and sometimes the act won't even start unless you press the psn button.
Great little game, fun as heck, but ruined by some stupid ass glitches, really don't see how they could release it in this state, bullshit. It needs to be patched FUCKING NOW.
are there supposed to be differences between ps3 and 360 versions?
Was totally ready to buy this game day one.If would have been my first 1200 point purchase ever... Then I found out there is no online co-op. I'll pick it up if they ever patch it include such a no-brainer feature, but have no interest in throwing Ubisoft money until they do so.
Collector of 1,673 strategy guides, and BlazBlue ain't one of them.
For a $10 dollar game, is it THAT necessary, I mean it's not like your paying $30 bucks for it.
I think the concept is awesome, although the concept of the movie confuses me. I've never read the comics anyway though. When this drops on Xbox, I will bring my unit to my moms and download it.
Somebody make me a "CGE 2k7 Attendee banner" so I don't have to use this lame text
It's not "necessary" but the precedent has already been set umpteen times over with similar titles (TMNT, Final Fight, Castle Crashers, etc.), while the game itself looks fantastic - lacking the online net code is a no-go for some who don't care for playing a beat em up solo and may not have friends local who would want to sit down and play through something like this.
Being a huge River City Ransom/Kunio Kun fan I'll buy the game when it gets patched for online multiplayer ... and from what I've read the only reason it doesn't have it now is because the game needed to hit a release window with the movie. Online should come later.
"And the book says: 'We may be through with the past, but the past ain't through with us.'"
I've been putting a ton of time into this game, and it pretty much is RCR. Though, multiplayer shouldn't be that big of a deal until later, because it takes quite a bit of time for you to really get your character to a powerful enough level. You really can't just go through the game and beat it. You have to replay levels so much that having friends with you during initial playtime is just a nuisance. Like RCR, the game is built to be a a good solo adventure.
I never read the comic, but the game is fun, the movie turned out to be awesome, and I love the music from the game. So many video game references throughout.
Just caught the film.
Brilliant brilliant stuff. Game is now on my must buy list, even without online multiplayer.
"And the book says: 'We may be through with the past, but the past ain't through with us.'"
Maybe this is just me, but I'll spend way more time playing multiplayer than single player. Examples: Call of Duty, Fable II, BlazBlue, Left 4 Deads... Maybe your beat-em-ups dont require skill or strategy to play, but they're exponentially more damn fun as more people join in.
Maybe I'm just remembering actual arcade units, and the first time you play Double Dragon with your younger brother (he's actually decent and doesn't totally suck anymore). Or what about Sunset Riders with all four people? X-men on a double-wide cabinet with five or your friends, and Daytona USA with seven strangers?
How about Scott Pilgrim with three of your online buddies? You're telling me this is not somekind of small milestone in your gaming life just waiting to happen?
Everyone that doesn't buy the game until it's fixed is keeping $15 from Ubisoft (assuming it ever will be). That's speaking with your wallet to make things right next time, so companies don't add a note to their operating manual:
"Releasing a game without online co-op is acceptable"
