I was browsing ebay, and came across this, and wanted to know if any of you have ever seen or heard of this item before, it was a total shock to me.

I actually have one of these, but have never used it. The Xbox rep at my store says he has one, but I don't think he has used it either. Microsoft issued these to stores and Reps in case they needed to reset the hard drive because of errors and then wouldn't have to wait for a new system. Being that they are only for Xbox employees, it could be a collector's item, or it could be forgotten.
I don't think I'd spend $75 on a reset disc though.
If it was a reasonable price (20$ or so) I would buy it, but paying that kind of cash is sorta ridiculous.

We used one at Funcoland for the first two systems we had because they kept crashing & BSOD'ing for a few months. Then we got a new rep & new systems....problem solved!
At first the reps just brought them in with them, but started leaving them there after a few trips.
Hmm... I don't suppose you can reflash the region code with those things can you? Heh. I seem to remember hearing that the region code is just burned into ROM somewhere to complete the localization process.
The XBox actually has BSODs?

I know for sure that the reset disc resets the xbox hard drive and everything would be deleted including games saves.

Yes, although the only time I ever remember seeing them is after one of the Kiosk discs played a few times through. The one with that annoying guy that was promoting Xbox Live a few months before it came out. Guess the system didn't like him either.Originally Posted by Jorpho
I just bought one from him off E-bay. For my repair business this is a must have. I got it shipped for less than the opening bid he set the auction at.
Not cheap though. I've got a formerly modded box that needs some of that discs love. I think it will do what I need....
It can sit on the shelf next to my MTE-201 for the IntelliVision.

The Blockbuster stores that rented XBOX systems had these discs so they could clear the hard drive after the unit was returned. They were worried about objectionable content being loaded, mainly songs.
