In another post it was reported that six 'new' games are being released for the Atari 2600. I applaud this and do not want to get on the subject of pricing and presentation. No one is forcing anyone to buy anything so if you don't want it, don't buy. If you want it, buy it.
All I want to say is that on the screen that announced these games, it says that these games have never been displayed before. This is not true. Several of them were shown to me at the Amiga suite at 200 Fifth Avenue in New York during Toy Fair in February 1983. At CES the following June, they were no longer displayed and when I asked about them, I was told that Amgia was concentrating on a new 16-bit computer. I had no idea what he was talking about.
The other post also says that Vortex was shown for the Atari 2600 at CES in January 1983. Unless it was shown behind closed doors, it was not on display. Another version of the game for another platform may have been shown, I don't known. My only interest in those days was the Atari 2600.
I am not writing this to cause any trouble but just to get the facts correct, as I have been doing for the past 29 years.
That said, I welcome these games and look forward to receiving them.
