Default Question about Wisdom Tree King of Kings

I recently come into posession of two copies of Wisdom Tree's King of Kings: The Early Years. However, the games themselves look different, one is brownish with the three wise men on camels and the other is blue with the three parts of the game on the cover. Is there any difference between the games or are they just a re-release? I'd play the game myself to find out but my NES is currently buried beyond belief. Also would one be more rare than the other? Thanks for the help.

There are currently known your two versions of the cart labels known with 4 versions of the actual game. When you start the game it actually tells you what version it is. These are v1.1, v1.2, v1.3 and v6.0. There are minor differences in ther start screen and other minor differences.

I can not tell you which game versions come with what cart color and cart label variations. For info on the roms for emulators see http://sardius.fefea.org/imgold.htm and scroll down to the june 13, 2002 section.

    Default Version #'s

Strange that it jumps from v1.3 to v6.0. Wonder why that is? Where are they missing versions? Or are there even any missing versions? Mysterious!

    Default I found it!

Right after I posd the question about the versions of King of Kings, posts his link to the interview with Brenda Huff of Wisdom Tree. Which contained this bit of info:

"Epicenter: Why were numerous version of the games released, i.e. King of Kings' different versions.
Brenda Huff: Yes and no. We had a packaging change. We went from the formal Nativity scene cover to a cartoon version of a King on a Camel. There were also different versions from KK1 to KK6. The only changes in these versions was a different circuit to get past the lockout devices Nintendo started putting in their machines. The actual game play never changed. We also did a couple of bug fixes from the KK1."

So I guess that explains the various versions.
