    Default New SNES Pin Adapter????

can new SNES pin Adapters be bought and installed in the console? I know there is an abundance of NES 72 pin adapters, but I dont think Ive ever seen an SNES one for sale, I need one BAD!

I doubt it, the SNES doesn’t have the same plug and play type pin connector the NES does, (the pins are soldered to the board on the SNES.) The only aftermarket SNES pins you might find would be like the ones in clone systems, I can’t speak for all of them but the ones I have seen (the YoBo and Retrode) would not fit in the official SNES.

Your best bet is to find a junk system and take the pins from it. (or fix it up if it’s something simple that's wrong with it)

AFAIK the older SNES systems don't have a soldered connector and can be replaced just like a NES 72-pin. If you look inside the cart slot and the connector is all metal, then it can be replaced. If you see two black plastic tabs on the sides of the connector then you're out of luck.

You Sir, are correct! (I did not know this, I have never worked on, or opened the first model up till now )

Even so, I don't think that they make a replacement pin for this model since its not the prominent model out there.

It's become that hard to find the model where the power button locks in older-shaped cartridges? Huh. I think I used to have one around long ago... Certainly gone by now.

There's a site that sells them if your lucky enough to have the system that doesn't require soldering. http://www.nesrepairshop.com/online_...?productID=481

The site I mentioned about also sells the lock on arm that holds the carts in place and the case if yours happens to be missing the feature.
