3DS is it worth it?

launch games and "launch window" of games released. Personally, I think that games at $40-$50 is a mistake. I think that this will affect software sales, but not necessarily the sales of the 3DS. With higher priced games, people will be buying less games.

To be honest, I don't think buying a system at launch is EVER plausible. With a higher amount of games, lower price, it's all around smarter to buy later than sooner. I can't think of a single system where the launch titles were so good that it was worth buying the system itself at launch.

Waiting gives you more time to save money, and more time to focus on the games you already have.

Some people are such huge fans/fanboys that they don't want to wait--even if the launch games are terrible. And then there are the......um, entrepreneurs. They will always be out in mass at any launch event just so they can hit ebay a few hours later. But I still agree with your sentiment. It's usually much smarter to wait for a system to get cheaper, have more games you want and added/extra features that weren't available at launch.

I've just become a cheap bastard over the last few years and I've gotten used to my machines having a number of uses outside of the intended ones. I'm sure the 3DS will have a large number of games I'd like to play and I'll probably get one at some point. But I don't mind waiting a few years for the price I want to come around and for the modders to figure out how to give me more functions for my dollars. Think I might upgrade to a DSiXL in the mean time....
