Doesn't that just mean that the game works with the Steam service? Like you don't have to install Steam to play it but you can use Steam with it if you want to?

Nope it means you buy a content license that is permanently tied to a steam account. A content license is isnt worth more than $30 for the occasional must have(Dawn of War 2) to myself, I probably wont buy this for more than $10 unless the reviews for this game are outstanding.

Ah gotcha, thanks for clearing that up. Would probably be best for you to hold out then and play a demo or read some reviews before dropping cash on a copy.

Yeah that's no big deal for me either, I have no problem with Steam and don't plan on getting rid of this game. As for the pre-orders running out, damn lucky I pre-ordered on Amazon about a week ago and got my invoice and everything already.

It seems Amazon is no longer taking pre-orders of "Balls of Steel" for any version.

Only GameStop seems to be taking in orders...so anyone interested in getting this edition should act quick just in case.

Yup the $99 is the LE, the regular $60 edition has a normal print run. Or only $90 for the LE and $50 for the standard if you go the PC route.

So I pre-ordered the Balls of Steel Edition for PS3. However, seeing that money is tight, I sold about $50 worth of stuff to Amazon for a gift card. Am I able to change the payment method to use the $50 gift card, then the other $50 on my credit card? Or am I screwed, and can't use gift cards post checkout?

I should be getting the gift card early next week.

If it doesn't let you change the payment method you can always just cancel your order and redo your preorder once your giftcard comes in.....unless they are no longer taking preorders.

Last time I checked, they were no longer taking preorders.

The best route is to contact them directly by calling them to see if they can add the new payment method. You should be able to, since it has not shipped.

Absolutely. All you have to do is apply the gift card to your account (go to the account tab and add the unique code to your account), go to "open orders" and click on the invoice for your order. There will be a box up top that says "apply gift card to order". I do this all the time as I am constantly getting gift cards and codes after I place my pre-orders. The only time this doesn't work is if you are trying to apply a promo code that they give you when you buy a specific game. Those generally have to be applied at the time you order, although occasionally a customer service rep will do it for you if you ask and get one who knows how to do it.

I have been wanting this version very badly, Duke Nukem 3D was a favorite for me as a child!
I felt stupid for holding out on getting this so I am soo happy it is back.
