Default Suggestions for NES / SNES games for 4 1/2 yr old girl

I searched for this, but didn't find anything :/ Sorry if this has been done before (probably).

It's been a while since I've really posted anything on here... having "new" children will do that to you. Ironically, this thread is exactly about that. I've got a 4 1/2 and a 2 1/2 year old, both girls. Over the last 6 months or so, my 4 1/2 year old has taken a liking to my DS. She loves the New Super Mario Bros, and is pretty good at it (all things considered). Today @ lunch I watched her beat some of the boss levels.

I introduced her to some old school NES, SMB3 on the Wii. Letting her know that her daddy played the hell out of that game when it came out, she loved it too.

Since then its kind of branched out, letting her try a few things here and there on my NES/SNES emu R4. Ive come to the conclusion, I'm going to hook up my old NES and SNES to an old tube TV I have in the garage. I was going to pick up old "rough" shape carts from some of the users here in the Buy/Sell/Trade area. Didn't want her to destroy anything "good" from the personal collection. Kind of funny thinking back on all the "rough" shape carts I had gotten rid of that I didn't want.

Anyways, I guess the reason of this thread is to look for suggestions on what types of games to pick up. Obviously, I don't want anything too complicated (running and jumping in SMB is still a challenge for her), and something that would be appealing to young kids. I've got a small list below of stuff that shes played and has liked already.

    Suggestions anyone?

Super Mario All-Stars is a good SNES title. I actually just bought it for my 5 year old nephew, and he loves it (though, you have the games on NES already, so it's just one of those things. Maybe a Disney game like Aladdin would be a good choice as well.

For the NES, good call on DuckTales. I might also suggest Bubble Bobble, Donkey Kong Classics, Marble Madness, Paperboy, and R.C. Pro Am.

For SNES I'll add Goof Troop (fun 2 player co-op game so you can play with her too), Super Bomberman and Fievel Goes West. FGW is very easy and rather cute... I suspect any 4 and a half year old would enjoy it quite a bit. Not a bad playing game, either.

Kirby's Adventure for the NES, is pretty easy and nice and colorful. I think a 5 year old would love it!

Three big NES suggestions for your daughter. I'm sure she'll love all of these.

Color a Dinosaur - this is basically a coloring book in videogame format. Mindless for adults, its perfectly suited for young children.

Kirby's Adventure - Its cutesy, girly easy and fun for anyone male or female at any age. Your daughter will adore Kirby.

refer to my review here: http://satoshimatrix.wordpress.com/2...re-review-nes/

Yoshi's Cookie - This is a puzzle game where you match four colored cookies to make them vanish. Its slower and easier than Tetris, making it perfect for your little girl. It will also be educational as it will teach her pattern reconnection skills, problem solving skills and make her a smart cookie. I can almost garuntee once you show her how to play it and let her try, she wont want to put it down. It's also for the SNES.

I second Bubble Bobble. As a child they might not be too concerned with getting far, and in that case it's a great starter game. I also liked the original Pinball when I was younger. Also, Bugs Bunny's crazy castle. I suppose they might have to know of and like Bugs for that though.

When I used to babysit (like 15 years ago) the kids I watched happened to like Pocky & Rocky a lot. It might be a little much for a 4.5 year old, but iirc the kids I was watching were like 5 and 3.

I didn't own or play video games myself at that age. I got my NES around 6-7 y.o. It came with mario/duck hunt, Zelda, and R.C. Pro-am. Those last two might be pushing it but I played them a whole lot more than mario/duck hunt. I got into MegaMan not too long after that. I'm not trying to derail this thread but it seems that a lot of us were that age on NES/SNES and might have memories that could be applied to your situation.

I definitely second Yoshi's Cookie, and like somebody else above said, Pinball.

I was also *really* into Zelda when I was about her age - I'd make my mom get me to level 2, then I'd kill snakes for HOURS. It'd be a good game for her to grow into.

Speaking of Color a Dinosaur.. How about Mario Paint? Kids like noisy things, right? The music creator might be up her alley.

I'm going to suggest Thomas the Tank Engine for SNES if your kids have any interest in the show. I let a kid I babysit play it all the time when he was 3 and 4, I think, and he definitely enjoyed it. It doesn't have much depth, but it can be fun to see your favorite characters on the screen.

I remember also enjoying it as a kid too if that counts for anything. Well I mean it does show why I had it.
    I have a sig?
