Default Tony Hawk Ride Prototype Controllers

I posted some info on various prototype controllers used during the production of Tony Hawk Ride over on lost levels. Since vbulletin and phpbb can't agree on a standard for bbcode, you're going to have to click over there to read it:

Very interesting. I've seen a pre-Ride Tony Hawk skateboard in another collectors collection, don't know what game it was for, but it was canceled. According to the company rep next to the guy when he bought it because it was too dangerous, it actually had wheels AND a wire on it.

The controllers are very interesting to say the least. A while ago (maybe a year or 2 ago), I actually played Ride with Tony Hawk and he was talking about the controllers. The controllers themselves for Ride had the ability to detect real flip tricks (like you do a real kick flip on the board and your in game character would do it), but it was deemed too dangerous, so they just cut it out of the game's code, but the controllers still had the ability to detect it.

I do not know if they got rid of that detection on Shred controllers. It is definitely very cool information to know about the Ride controllers though

I had this game for the Wii for about 2 days. I tried and tried to get it to calibrate, but couldn't get past the screen when Tony kept saying, "It's probably the easiest thing you'll do all day." Yeah, I doubt that. Seriously made me want to punch him in his face after hearing that literally hundreds of times...with absolutely zero success...

I don't know about that, I strapped real wheels on one of the boards and took it down to the skate park. Certainly isn't any worse for wear.
